More guitars, loads of bass and proper drums-high in the mix, instead of loads of programming. And get Gillian back.

Like a hybrid of Technique and Low-life, with better vocals from Barney that are not obviously altered with pitch-correction software.
avangardist instrumental electronic music. a whole piece of music of 40 or 50 minutes with different textures, different sounds, different colors, different shades. not the same as soundtrack which is the same pattern repeated for 30 minutes with no great surprises. a simphony, if you will. i think they could do that pretty well. i´d like that! ![]()
yep... get Gillian Back. I miss her. And hope it will be like their sound of early 80s. Power, Corruption and Lies. No more ambient ... I think they r not that keen on ambient though the Peter Saville soundtrack is not bad.
17 Seconds, Faith & Pornography
or:
get the band/producer to listen to Closer prior to writing/recording and ask themselves 'how can we match this?'
Less guitars and more keyboards. I also want to see Gillian return to the botherhood
More keyboards + Gillian = back to the '80's. But hey, Get Ready is a sign of the future - less experimental, more conventional - let's just go with what they do now and relish it. Before we know it they'll be getting their free bus passes (and so will we).
i understand that we LOVE the stuff new order did back in the 80s. but what´s the point of creating the same thing? i think the thing about NO is they always wanted to push their own limits and not making the same thing! if they hadn´t done that we wouldn´t have perfect kiss or blt, etc. they still be playing as joy division. so i hope for once they won´t do the same thing again. if i want the 80s i put their 80s records on.
I would love them to include a Joy Division song on it, just one, to see how they would do it nowdays.
Dave:D
Needs to start off with a monster, something to blow everyone away. Follow that up with a rocking bastard then transition into electronic XTC to show the world that NO is the best at dancability. Transition back and mellow out with an acoustic number or two then go introspective. End with another NO monster that will have us begging for more. Mix liberally and have the music world stumped as too define the genre of music they play. And, please, lots of singles with non-album b-sides and extra tracks.
I want the new album to sound like a mix between Technique and Get Ready with a couple of dark bass filled songs that would parallel Joy Division material
things i'd like to see on the next album:

You've obviously not heard Barney's interpretation of Atmosphere then. ![]()
I'd like to hear some special effects on their sound.More studio technology, more bass and Peter singing a song, their own production on the album, keep on with the guitars please.
Gillian won't participate of the album, sorry.
I'd like it to be a mixture of synthy and rock-type numbers, just to show their two different sides. Also, like a lot of people have been saying, GET GILLIAN BACK!
something i left out: i'd like the rockin' tunes to have more synth, and the synthy songs to have more rock-gusto (though, vicious streak and someone like you already do a good job at accomplishing this synthy w/ gusto concept.)
I just hope there would be some really original use of synth with some great guitar play, all anchored by awesome bass lines

The Valley has six malls (including Fallbrook which is currently being rebuilt )(maybe seven if they do decide to build a small one in Porter Ranch) for NO performances
