I've heard a rumour that the next single off 'Get Ready' will be 'Someone Like You'. That would please a few people round here. I personally think its one of the best tracks on the album.

Well, I prefer Someone like you to 60 miles an hour. I hope it's not just a rumor! :D

I think i'll send Warner US a huge petition to make it a double A-side consisting of "SLOW JAM" 18-MINUTE MEGAMIX and "ROTTEN SHAG" -BOBBY N BARNEY ACCAPELLA VERSION. Just you watch me.....

I would love to hear some nice remixes of "Someone like you" maybe with the synth bits strengthened.

I thought "Turn my Way" would be the obvious choice for the US market.

Turn My Way, Slow Jam, or Vicious Streak would be a good call as far as singles go. If I had to choose.......i'd go with VS.

Well...this is one of those things that just makes me think about several different things...if it is commercial success the order is now after, then, for the US market, they should next release Turn My Way and hype the Billy Corgan connection..for some reason chicks over here really seem to dig him (What do you think of the bald man there Liv???). But I would be quite content with Rock the Shack, but I know I'm way outnumbered on that one..

Billy Corgan....hmmmmm..... if i was drunk enough, or maybe trapped in a lift with nothing better to do....

No seriously, I think i'm speaking for lots of Brit lasses here, he is not that well known by your average bird in the street. The Pumpkins although critically acclaimed here, and able to sell out Brixton, were never really a band that the majority of everyday people would recognise (except that they appeared on the Simpsons)

OK then, in summary... Your average Q reading, music appreciating lass about town, would probably be impressed by the bald ones obvious talents... but the average Just17 reading, Westlife loving, slappers would rather shag Ronan Keating...

Does that help Jeff?

Liv

Primitive Notion should be the next single although i doubt it will be. I would of thought Turn My Way would of been an obvious choice as well.

Any word on when 60mph will be released in Australia?

Vicious Streak, A SINGLE ?

Man!!! If there is only ONE SONG that, in my mind, has absolutely no "single" potential on Get Ready, it's Viciously Streaked!!

Every other track could make it as a single, including Run Wild (although it wouldn't be my choice, of course).

Even though I'd hate it because it would kill the chance of another good song to be a single, somewhere deep inside of me, I wish New Order to release ROCK THE SNACK.

It would make a great single cover... I have this in mind for quite a while now.... 12" singles with HUGE letters on the front, period:

R O C K T H ES H A C K.

But my first choice would still be Turn My Way...

Seb.

Here's a vote for Close Range, my favorite GR track...

The record company would have to be stupid to not try to cash in on the Corgan assist on Turn My Way. It may or may not be the next US single, but it will surface at some stage. :smoking:

Someone Like You with Player In the League would be the best single release since True Faith/1963 if it gets released that way. Unfortunately, the mixes on white-label are absolute SHIT for SLY. I would like to hear a Rae&Christian remix of Vicious Streak.

Seb, are you losing your True Faith? I am worried about you. Take a break and see how you feel but we do appreciate all the work you guys do on this site.

Vicious Steak would never be a single but it is one of the best songs on Get Ready (with Primitive Notion). The thing about these songs not being singles is that they will forever be OUR songs. The album tracks that stand out are usually the ones we cherish the most and not the singles that get airplay.

YES!! And then they'll release the Barney/Britney Spears/Destiny's Child/Nelly Furtado collaboration video of Rock the Shack. It'll be all over TRL. Woo hoo!!!

But if they wanted to go even further, Reprise/Warner US could do no worse than release "TURN MY WAY" (BALD GOOSE REMIX) and let the shit hit the fans doing the walking......

Huh, why are you saying this?!

did you say in another post you didn't know if you wanted to be webmaster anymore? i'll be glad if i'm mistaken.

Oh, okay!

Well, I won't be for long anymore, and that's a fact -- I won't have time.

And if we're talking mid-term, even NewOrderOnline may disappear.

By the month of June next year, I'll be a lawyer and Nicolas an engineer, and we won't have time for running a website anymore really -- not in an efficient matter at least. Besides, we still think that having a social life can be a good thing in a man's life, and I am not including the website in this "social life" actually... aherm... :D

Our plans are to the effect of keeping it alive until after New Year's Day, and after that we'll see what happen. Actually, we certainly did not do all this work only to let it go -- we'll find someone to take charge instead.

Of course, if New Order comes touring North America, we'd be silly to shut the site down before that happens...

Seb.

P.S. Thanks for you comments, though! :)

Actually, don't worry to much about it, this site will not close too soon.

I suspect the activity will slow down when the band will return to their little things, I seriously doubt they will release a new record, let's say next year, so the site will be updated a lot less then.

I can assure you it takes a lot of our time, beside the fact that some people are doing all they can to deteriorate our relations with the record labels, and some people just copy our work without permission, it's really frustrating... this is *why* sometimes we have to take a break.

After all, it's a hobby, I sure don't think I'll close the site any time soon, maybe Sebastien will take a break, but as far as I know, this is a learning school for me and I'm sure not taking that away, in fact it helps my job, but maybe as the activity will slow down, I will too, enter news when I have them, will probably post a little less (and find a moderator), and that's just the normal things of life.

But as far as I'm concerned, the site will be up as long as I have a free host, I'm not willing to pay anymore to keep this site up, I just bought a house damn it, I have other priorities in life :D

P/S: Seb, I am an engineer! since 2 years damn it :D

It would be a real shame if this place closed. It would be like when they stopped producing Pringles onion flavour back in '95. I'm just getting over it now.

So many friends, so little time.

It makes me sad and close to tears...

It will be like losing an arm in an unfortunate wrestle with an amorous pig... where the pig became the unexpected victor and dined on human to impress his friends.

Yes, Huntsy, I agree. It would be a great blow.

I'm not quite sure I understand your parable of the amorous pig. I thought it was people who ate pigs, and not the other way around.

So how did you come to write a song called "San Francisco" Huntsy?

It is a quality site, but Seb/Nic are right that it must all end one day....

Am I alone in thinking SLY is actually not that good. I find it incomprehensible that people are comparing it to True Faith. 60Mph is streets ahead and the obvious single choice. SLY would bomb in the charts quicker than you could say 'Chickety-snap'

SLY certainly doesn't seem like single material, unless some magician remixer finds something there that's not obvious.

Haven't people said that 60 mph remix is surprisingly good? I haven't heard it.

Pastie... if you e-mail Buster he would pass you the web link to SF, only after you've heard it will you make head and tail of the storyline... perhaps you could let me know what its all about.

I don't eat meat... so I only imagine a pig eating a bloke. I'm not sure where the amorous bit comes in but there again I'm not even certain of my shoe size. It's either 9 or ten... sometimes even 8!!! (which is quite disconcerting)- see what I mean.

Sebbsy's right... this place has to end and if I was to be honest for just one moment in time (is it possible) - I fear my departure is quite likely sooner than you think. (it is hard not to reference NO songs isn't it).

Now Patrick, and Sebbsy, don't lead me down the garden path with talk of '60mph re-mix' is quite good... now come on....

It's no secret SLY has never been my favorite on the album, although it has grown on me, lately...

The 'Promo' version of 60mph remains the best yet...

And, by the way, Nic and Seb, should you stop everything, we would respect your decision of course. This site must not become some sort of slavery for you.

But we would certainly shred some tears...

No, Huntsy, please, not you. or, at least, wait until you've reached the 1 billion posts...

Klumps, NO tastewise we appear very similar-which is good because occasionaly I feel a little lonely.

I had basically always planned to stop posting after I'd seen them (11th) but due to certain things at work not being sorted yet, I have a little too much time on my hands.

Sorry to speak with a sombre note, but HUntsy when you do indeed go..give warning

I also remember earlier saying I ws looking forward to the Superman Lovers mix of 60mph. i reckon it will be quite good. Suprisingly though, being a bit of a dance music buff, I've not seen a single reference to any new NO mixes in the dance charts yet, though Crystal is hanging in there..

But then I think 60mph is a cracking song anyway..again the apathy shown towards it on this board astounds me.
