I was just thinking that, while I did a poll way back when about sketch comedy shows, I realized it wasn't any fun unless I asked you to choose between the two preeminent examples, Monty Python's Flying Circus and Saturday Night Live. So here it is, the ultimate poll: I predict either a pretty even split, a more balanced distribution of votes, or a lot of "but what about MadTV?" idiots....![]()
Who I vote for: Even though I have a warm place in my heart for the Phil Hartman Era (1986-1994), and was willing to believe that things were improving around the time Will Ferrel joined the cast, I have to vote MPFC. They have more timeless comedy, with less reliance on "will the audience get the joke" or targeting 15-minute celebrities of current times. MPFC for me, baby! ![]()
