1 The crescendo building up at the end of the song, Hooky's bass at the start, Steve's cymbal touch, Gillians keybaording, Barney's lyrics (Live version) .....Fuck it! The whole Goddamn song - pure greatness:D

2 Time it was ressurected in Live performances!!

3 Just an absolute corker of a song - a crazy, but beautiful ride from start to finish

  1. 'oooow ooow' bit.
  2. Nothing, it's perfect.
  3. It's one of the first tracks after Blue Monday I heard, it's flawlessly beautiful from start to finish, combines everything I love about the band into 5.16 seconds. A definite contender for all time favourite ever. 4.100%
  4. Went to Manumission at KU now Privelege with less than £100.00 ended up getting a taxi with no money and having to explain to the Gardia Civil, that I intended to pay as soon as I could cash a 'Travellers check'. I wasn't as drunk as you'd imagine, the £35.00 to get in only left me with enough for about 10 drinks.

Why would I want a cup of tea when I have a fifth?

Ah, a classic...

  1. The opening riff (still gets me every time)

  2. Worst bit? You gotta be fucking kidding!

  3. It's the best damn introduction to any album bar Baba O Riley or I Saw Her Standing There.

  4. 100%

  5. While riding down a water slide, I tried to slow my speed with my bare feet. I cut up the bottoms of my feet pretty nicely, and I walked uncomfortably around the beach the rest of the trip.

alright...my turn...

  1. The work of Stevie boy on this one is astounding, and as pointed out earlier, it's a great beginning to the album.
  2. I can't think of a bad bit either
  3. the whole I've lost you bit reminds me of my love life!
  4. I give it a 94
  5. Trying to drink like Shugster, and losing my whole world (why did you have everything in your backpack :stupid: I mean surely you knew you were going to be having a few drinks, so why carry EVERY DAMN THING with you...Jeff must be the dumbest sonofabeach in the whole wide world)

  1. The whole song is pure class, but I love the intro and the keyboard solo.

  2. There are no worst bits of this song.

  3. Love it cause it was the first song by NO I ever heard on the radio.

  1. Particularly like Barney's 'thrash' solo partway though (see also: close of Love Vig). Best bassline ever too, so infectious. Also love the way Barney 'spits' his lyrics out.
  2. Hello? Why isn't this played live anymore?
  3. Talismanic (is that a word?) track, and probably even MORE of a song for the 'ardcore purely cos of it's omission from live sets. Hooky said on MTV around the time of Republic (and I'm para-phrasing here) that his greatest joy was watching the faces in the crowd when he started up the bassline. Thought he was taking the p*ss somewhat even back in 93, cos they weren't playing it. Now I'm just utterly bemused.

  5. 'Done' lots of 'dumb things' on holiday in me yoof. Two girls from Chorley and Blackpool spring to mind. ;)

  1. Best bassline ever
  2. They don't play it anymore
  3. Loved that birds and bees line - so funny and innocent sounding that just fitted in with Barney's "little boy lost" stage persona at the time.
  4. 97%
  5. Well there have been a few. Someone I know may be reading though, so I will keep my peace on this one ;)

Jim...I don't think many people have this one on their favorites list...because it's not one of the "best known" songs...so it kind of slips by...

you know what I mean...

ask most people what their faves are...and you will get the standards...

Blue Monday True Faith The perfect kiss BLT temptation and things like this

I bet there aren't many who would say

Age of Consent Angel Dust blah blah blah...

they have so many great songs that we often forget about some of the "just" very good ones...

and yes Patrick, we want to hear all the gory details about the dumbest thing you have done on holiday...

if you need some more encouragement, here's yet another story...I really do need to quit drinking while on holiday...

first time I went to Cozumel...I couldn't check into my hotel when I got there...but it was all inclusive, so they suggested I go to the bar...I mean, free beer, how could I pass?

so I drink lots and lots of dos equis...and then decide to go for a swim in the Carribbean...well, somewhere along the way, I lose my new sandals...

and they were really nice looking sandals...

so see my whole point here...I am a jessie...and it's okay to tell us what you did, we won't respect you any less in the morning...I swear!!!!

1- Best bit- I have to agree with most, the cavalcade bass line of this song is superb

2- Worst bit- There ain´t no worst bits only good and superior.

3- I love it 'cos it never fails to cheer me up.

5- Dumbest thing done while on holidays. That must have happened in Salou, me and the lads got very drunk and start smashing bottles and glasses, (I am ashamed of this but you must understand this happened many years ago, these days I am a law abiding, upright citizen). We got rightly told off by a Guardia Civil in civvies on his day off. Only we did not believe him to be a Guardia Civil, he was shortish, wore specs, and was very well mannered. He showed us his ID and I insisted it was only the library card. At one moment I actually took the ID from his hand and hide it behind my back. He went ballistic and I taunted him (luckily for me he was not armed!). Then I took a closer look to the ID and realised through my blurry eyes that it was indeed a Guardia Civil ID. I went blank (and sober!) give it back to him and start running closely followed by my mates.

I did not stop running until I got home. You do not mess with the Guardia Civil. :tank:

Best Bit - Has to be the catchy bass line although Barneys vocals come a close second.

Worst Bit - No bad bits .. Although we've been playing around with this song at practice and it sounds really good with a little more synth added to the mix ...

Why you like it/hate it ? - I love it because its quite fast, very catchy and Barney seems to be stretching the vocals a little which is a good thing (I've had afew people tell me that he sucks on this song though).

Percentile rating - 90%

What is the absolute dumbest thing you have ever done whilest on vacation/holiday? - Has to be when I was on holiday in New York with two other friends and we stupidly decided to go walking without a map. After about an hour, found ourselves walking through one very nasty looking neighborhood. Next minute, we're surrounded by 4 very tall African American gentlemen holding razors and asking for some money. Funny thing is that they didn't want our wallets (or the video camera that was in my backpack) ... Just took afew dollars in coin off us ...

  1. Best Bit

The guitar at the beginning.

  1. Worst Bit

To me, the lyrics "birds and bees" doesn't sound right... and that awful remix on the Rest of album.

  1. Why You Love/Hate It

I'm not a fan of this song, even if it's a good track, but I like the music on it, but I find the way Bernard sings is pretty bad.
