1. The opening bass riff, the triple drum beat following the "birds and bees" reference, the great vocals following the instrumental bridge, the "Oooooh-OOOOOOOOO" echo thing, the great guitar solo, and most of all the most gorgeous symphony sounding synths EVER.

2. Nothing really, maybe those things that sound like boots near the end, but that's just something that sounded odd, not something that bothered me.

3. Because it's perfection and few bands ever reach perfection, and it combines regret and poignant sense of loss with anger, always a great combination. It's a flawless song. Amazing really. And I've always been addicted to those symphonic synths.

5. Assuming that simply slapping on some sunblock with a few swats to my back would be enough to cope with a Maui afternoon. 12 hours later, I was in agony and on my way to a five day stay in bed w/third degree burns or something of that sort.

The bass sounds uncannily like "Hong Kong Garden" by Siouxsie and the Banshees.

best bit - the slight off key singing on some of the lines worst bit - hmmm, nope, can't think of any ... oh wait a minute I'm not very keen on the remix version and I could never figure out what it was doing the OST of Waynes World 2 like it - altho I really like Movement it was pleasing to see Neworder take a different path from Joy Division rate it - highly holiday - arguing with the cops in Skeggy when I was 14, very embarrassing ... but hey they started it :)

Age of Consent... I love the way it is a thought out tune, but with a feel as if it was new order jamming on the spot. That song brings back some good memories.

1.Best bit - that bassline gets in your head - no escape

2.Worst bit - it's prolonged and terminal live absence

3. Love/hate - it's such a good opener to the album, brushed aside the dark clouds of Movement with a whoop and a totally new dynamic

4.90% - up there with the very best

I am ashamed to say it took me 20 years to warm up to this song. I love it now and can't figure out why it took me so long to "get" it. I got into NO through Low-life & the later albums. I never got PC&L and only heard this song sporadically...plus, it isn't on any of the complations. I always liked it but never really listened to it. I can't believe I overlooked this treasure for so long.

best bit? the interplay between the guitars & bass worst bit? Barney's vocals are a little wobbly but I always found that an endearing quirk. why I love it? It's beautiful in a bittersweet way. The music is cheerful but the lyrics are ambivalent. I like that. percentage? 85% wackiest holiday? I got really drunk at a bar & tried to sing some really bad karaoke....worse still, it was a country & western song.
