Eriksson said at a press conference today (Friday): "Everyone is fit. Steven Gerrard trained very well and should be on the pitch tomorrow unless he suffers a reaction in the night but I think he will play".
Though I wear my Paraguay-shirt today I hold thumbs for Enger-land. I think it's time for them to win a WM with a correct goal. ![]()

Nevertheless, I just learned there is one canadian in the whole tournament, and he's playing for England :p
Owen Hardgreaves.
1-0 to England!
Well done lads!
How come Paraguay was allowed 12 players though? And were was the referee???

Well that was not a game to be proud of Enger-land-fans...
England played ell, especially first half, but yet again Sven's substitutions ere questionable to say the least... Fair enough change the system, cos Cole playing off Crouch can work, but with 30 minutes to go, if it's not working, then change it again, Walcott should have come on to give Crouch someone to lay it off to or someone to run onto the ball... Paraguay never looked like scoring, but tactically Sven seems to have one plan and if that doesn't work, we're fucked...
The referee didn't help, but that's gonna happen sometimes... Oh, well, it's three points and (hopefully) things can only get better...

Sweden did next to nightin for the first 35 minutes. Only one good scoring opportuity. They seem tense and impatient. Maybe good news for Engerland, especially if this game were to end up in a draw...
TNT have had a man sent off less than a minute into the second half, but have now brought an extra striker on!
And don't appear to be playing too badly... Good news for England, Sewden don't look too crash hot... ![]()

nationalgeographic.com has a current article about the changes. The new ball differs from the last Adidas one by being lighter, has less panels and is stitchless. The panels are fused together with heat and the final ball is said to feel the same rain or shine.

With this talk about England (and possibly Holland today also) getting exhausted in the afternoon heat in the Paraguay game like they did in Japan in 2002, how about holding a future World Cup in the middle of winter ,in Europe (i.e Moscow in the snow
) some time???
Let's see how the smart arse Brazilians and Argies fair in those kind of conditions eh??? sounds fair enough to me.European nations are always expected to play in hot conditions in the World Cup so it's only fair that once in a while South American nations should play in the middle of a European winter.
So, the Premiership would have to be halted for a month but that's what some nations have to do anyway for the World Cup.Plus, the players won't be so knackered as it's only the middle of the season.
It's only fair innit???![]()

Well FIFA do seem to be making a big thing of thei 'My Game Is Fair Play' thing... ![]()
