Morning Mr Gnu :love2:

Why don't you train to be a Pharmacist, then you can steal loads of pain killers? Ok it might take time, and you might not need them then, but you could smuggle them over for SC, who i'm sure will need them for something.

I like that! It sounds good.

Mr. Campbell, you and the missus ought to compare painkillers sometimes. A couple of morphine with coffee, then some hydrocodone throughout the day...we've a bigass opiate stash and I'm not allowed to touch it. Not as glamorous as it seems, though, is it? I get so pissed off (American style) when I read that Colin Fucking Ferrell, e.g., is being "treated" for an addiction to painkillers. The missus has to jump through hoops to get them just so she can get out of bed and walk around, and then call to get permission to take an extra one. That's why it's so important to me to become a Hollywood celebrity...so I can get giant bags o' pills.

msh, can I call you Melly? Not Melly B or Melly C, though...gosh, you're much prettier than a Spice Girl.

:love2:

I feel for yer missus, tho I think she may be worse off than I ...at least i get decent days. Wassup with her if I can ask?

I'm one down from morphine and I like it that way. Shortly after starting these ones i had a really REALLY vivid bout of night terrors that sent me wrong for about 3 days. I asked my Doc if it could have been withdrawls and he almost laughed...."errrrr not only you're alergic or something cos people do 3 times the dose for years and have no trouble" sure enough, it never phased me again. Morphine would worry me....even though it would be the only thing able to actually overcome what I'm feeling today.... a mate of mine had a tumour in the cavity behind his nose...and miraculously enough was cured, BUT it took him another 6 months to get off morphine, and he constantly offered the opinion during full treatment that cancer was considerable less debilitatiing than the treatment (then again, the whole not being dead thing is a bonus).

And Melly really is LUDICROUSLY beautiful isn't she. I'd no idea you built them like that over there.

I can't see me being back at work before the summer. that's make it a nice 2 years. I remember when the subjet came up in work "go see a doctor mate you look like you're dying" and seeing Leanne nearly weepin when she was lookin at me sit down....And I told them if I went to the doc it'd be a long time. Didn't think it'd be this long. Like i said i can;t get anything done until the specialist I've to see gets his new staff. And when I do see him I have this to look forward to... The only treatment apparently

ctually an acne treatment but they reckon it may work.

If that fails....they have to cut out all my pheremone producing sweat glands......yeaaaaah like I'm not unsexy enough as it is...now I wont even smell like a man. that means hige chunks out of my armpits and groin and god only knows how long immobilized in hospital. I dont do hossy....so I'm very much hoping it doesn't come to that.

Some days i feel like a total fraud, billy the chav living on his incapacity benefit and living the good life (my definition of the good life being 2 warm computers, a bass and NOOL), on those days it FEELS like I've got no pain and all my mobility back...but it's only a relative thing really as people keep pointing out..like the company's doctor last week, the bloody thing was on extra good behaviour I thought, goinna make me look like a real skiver....doc takes a look at it and says..."and that's it dormant in your book is it?" and shook his head. Days like today....I'll probably sit at this machine all day save for peeing eating and checking for post....even getting out of the chair is REALLY unbearable, and walking sucks because of the particular specs of todays swelling. Still could be worse....could have spacehopper genitals like I had on the journey the apollo....actualy it worked out quite well....with the skin (and only the skin I might add.....my bits are cool) of me sack swollen til it was 1cm thick, it braced everything against me thighs and prevent unwanted and painful relative movements. Pogoing hurt a great deal tho as the various mounting were no design for the extra load of all that swelling.

Hope I didn't make you ill. But you guys have gotta know why I get cranky sometimes, especially with matchmakers...I really am no use to any of you ladies, sorry :(

Cheers for that, Steve. Great start to the day. You're no chav. You're our founder, and if you were at work, who'd keep us occupied all day and night (you don't sleep ever, i'm sure of it)??? Think of it as a very special kind of employment. Down side is, you don't get paid. :)

Systemic lupus erythematosus...that's when your immune system takes off in your system like Pac Man and nibbles on healthy tissue: lungs, kidneys, joints, etc. Chronic pain, fatigue, swelling, spontaneous bruising, hair loss...it's a nonstop rollercoaster of delights, especially when Pac Man heads up the spine and nervous system; then it's like multiple sclerosis, the home game.

You should knock out a quickie SNSS record and use the proceeds to come over here to the Cleveland Clinic...the hospital preferred by 9 out of 10 Arab oil princes. It's funny driving through the ghetto and then seeing Prince Abdul and his manservant and 9 wives taking a stroll around the clinic.

Million-dollar idea: Barney's Angels...the next Atomic Kitten. We work up the backing tracks and the BAs lip synch seminude. Deal?

It would have to be in a Millie Vanillie stylee though. None of us can sing. But with make-up and soft lighting we'd look damn good!!

ahhhh we just need to get errr evaluna's singer and what ya call that lot who entered the pseudo chamber music thing ...their singer Tracey somethin....we just need to get them in the Angels. msh can do all the pouty stuff...Jem does the talking, Bonzette, if properly drugged can handle the pissy corporate stuff.

I'm thinking of a dread zep style approach.... a themed tribute band. New order songs all rewritten to be flattering towards or semi pornographic about...poor bernard.

EDIT: how like steve to leave out the important bit. I've heard of Lupus...i believe the medical term is "fucking nasty". :(

Not so much a silk stocking over the lense as a thermal sock you mean?

In addition to a Columbo smilie, and a Chandler dance smillie, there also badly needs to be a "fire in the hole" or "running like bastard" one too.

...the great irony being that the missus was the vitamin-gulping Kashi-munching organic vegetarian who used to get up at 5 a.m. to put in 8 miles on the treadmill.

I sit in front of a computer eating artificially flavored styrofoam bits and I'm in perfect health.

I've never seen Desperate Housewives, but people tell us all the time that the missus looks exactly like Felicity Huffman, which I take it is a good thing. She'd definitely rate a few :love2: :love2: :love2: s on this thread.

We need at least one druggie for publicity purposes. I nominate Bonzette. And one of you is going to have to marry Liam Gallagher.

well, I've got ubuntu and fc4 sitting on ginger - the fc4 is used considerably more than the testpress of ubuntu.. I first set it up just as a mp3 server/firewall, then got the weird idea to just make a mini-network between fred and her on the offchance a buddy would want to come over and I'd need a spare working computer with functionality.

I am mostly a gaming girl so my win2kpro box gets a lot of abuse, but when I'm just farting around online I wheel over to ginger and post from there.

ginger's just a souped up p3 600 with 320+MB stolen from a bunch of delapidated boxes I knick from garage sales and 20/15 gig drives that are just storage for mp3's (and I'm not so anal on the mp3's I keep there, most just gets encoded at 192, unless it's stuff I really like to hear all the nuances on... and then whatever goes) If I had a better tower, she'd have more drives, but I'm operating on the best chip versus the best space, currently

fred's a 1.2 duron tower with a half gig of memory and a perpetually cleaned hard drive that hasn't needed to be over 40g since I first built him. He's stood the test of time well, and gets a new vid card or a nice twin optical disk addition whenever there's a decent sale (I'm so glad to have my dvd-+r combo drive.)

I'm in the market for decent KVM switches, always.

I don't really code all that much anymore. I was a bigger nerd in secondary school than now, possibly because I've gotten lazier and just in general want to write short essays as opposed to sorting out print_functions all night.

bought my PC in 2000...had avoided the hateful things until then. But while fixing them for mates had found that some of the games were good (notably GP legends aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh. Had Mandrake on it inside 3 months. and had Linux in the house since. It started with me on Mandrake. my bro resisted despite him BEING a code monkey and into all the insides of computers (I'm not, I just like computers that work, funny that). Then he tried it. The he vonerted ME to LFS...and then I converted him back to Gentoo....which is basically LFS with a kick ass package managed. Hal does everything athlon1800xp 700 odd mb of ram, and 60 gb o drive and an nvidia geforce 4 Sal plays games and runs cubase....athlong 2800_, 1GB matched DDR400...200GB dive and an ati7800 pro (nasty cards)...the two machines have simillar performance not surprisingly. Guzunda (cos she guzunda the table) is a bits....same story as your server...put all the old bits in a box and shake.....Guz runs web, mail, news and all sorts of servers as well as holding 300 and something gig of mp3s Donnard is my bros's box it's silver

So....apps.... windowmaker opera (ok and firefox and konqueror) emelfm k3b azureus gimp Eterm Evolution Pan pyslsk xmms and beep media player mplayer (never gmplayer..always mental for me that) and xine knewsticker

I'm stuck on mozilla's FF and TB xmms & beep (i love beep  ) gaim for all messaging needs audacity blender for occaisonal modding needs emacs for most nonsensical things flinch

and I really don't use much else. It's just this barebones little thing. I tweaked the setup at first install and just don't pay attention to updating it other than necessary pkgs like the newer mentions of above.

i think the best program i use is that audacity thing. it's the best find, ever.

OK....we're just getting to know each other, but there's something you should know.....I use vi we still speakin?

emacs...i tried I really tried...the thought of a text editor that thinks it s fucking OS is just too brilliant to ignore, but sadly I just couldn't be friends with it, I could use it(just) but never mates. not exactly friends with vi either, for proper typing i'd still pull up openoffice ot at least kedit....in a term I WOULD use nano, but forced myself away from it because it's not always available....whereas vi and emacs usually are.

been doing lots of dvd ripping and authoring in linux (and recently trashed most of the scripts by changing program versions (transcode and the like).) Linux is SO much easier for that stuff once you read a few bits (in my lazy case I read the command someone else used in an example and replaced stuff with $1 (yes, you;re talking to a 34 yrold script kiddie)). The trick, as with all things linux, is pipes, I love them. You can throw any file that mplayer can play, into mplayer and send it's output to transcode and get whatever the fook you want out the other end. I adore pipes and all that carry on....the way it's like fooking mecahno (mechano exists over there right?) lie a studio..plug x into y and send the result to z...what could be easier. I also enjoy the idea that stuff piped to /dev/null falls out the serial port and needs sweeping up from time to time :)

U ever visit Comp.os.linux.advocacy ?

WOW makes this place look like an old dears home at 3pm...a big overwarm room full of zzzzzz ing vegetables. it's not an online asylum it's an online gladiator show.

audacity is good BTW....although when you have wavelab 5 a kvm click away,,,, you don;t use it much.

seen this? you may need some tissues

I'm sane, I don't toe any linux party lines, and certainly won't hate you for liking vi (cos really, whatever gets the job done in the end. :P )

I'm horning over the baudline site again, back in a while.

If/when I have proper equipment, I likely won't be hovering in odd positions to record my own material over a shoddy mic and ghettoed pseudo-mixer set up  it's positively pathetic seeing me doing my 'thang' over here late at night.

Might be why I stay in the geekcave so much, it'd be horrifying to think of anyone actually seeing how screwed my kits are. :evil4:

Sound dude came up to me one night at a gig and looked at my it..pointed at my Casio CZ (no keys, no screen and a few nasty mods done to make up for it (nothing cool tho, more life saving) and said "ahhhh I take it that's for doing a keith emerson later then" I looked VEry hurt and he wandered away scrathing his head.

After the gig he came up to me, apologised and shook my hand, he also enquired as to the availability and price of used CZ series machines :)

I don't drag corpses around for fun :D

Sleep is better anyway cos I can't take any more painkillers fo like 6 hours and I'm FUCKIN SORE.
