I have absolutely no need, or desire, to twist your words. I believe in free speech and clarity of opinion.

In this vein maybe you know what you meant/mean by the above post, but I'm afraid whatever point you were trying to make eludes me!

PS I've no intention of being drawn into an argument with you every time I post, so feel free to post your right wing propaganda and excuses for slaughtering innocent children for oil. (While ignoring the proof that stares you in the face).

So on you go, blissfully and wilfully ignore the facts.

There you are, just pretend for the 3rd time that these children (and the 1000's upon 1000's of other children) deserved this...

They're not dead..they're just resting...

Blimey, MIMX, I do not see how this is now adding anything whatsoever.

That is the 3rd time you've felt the need to post pictures of dead children.

Surely once was enough? I think we all get the message. You're starting to dilute your original points now.

"I think we all get the message" no quite...

And this gives me the excuse of posting this for the umpteenth time...

MIMX, yer posts don't even line up to a single point... first you want to claim all 'your boys" are blood thirsty bastards hell bent on killing women and children... then you want to go off on some sort of tangent of oil for lives... and then a "save the children" cry. If you don't like the current war, than so be it, but that doesn't mean all soldiers are bloodthirsty animals. That's not rightwing propoganda, its simply pointing out that yer basing your view on a stereotype that is as bad as racism, etc.

Fuck me, how could anyone think this is a serious "cry to save the children"!

Beggars belief....

(Or on 2nd thoughts, maybe no, for those hard of understanding, basic reading/interpretation skills).

I REPEAT!

I'm begining to understand what being stalked is like!

 Military bashing is not as bad as racism. Need I remind you that a national military has almost always been on the side of hegemony? The nation's power structures are firmly in favor of the military, unlike the victims of racism.

And...?

Of course they are.

The Scots have always made the most effective lethal battle hardened soldiers in the British army.

Nowhere did I suggest otherwise.

Which Regiment ? Are these accolades not just part of the army's strategy,to justify what the top brass view as frontline cannon fodder?

And yes, ofcourse it's all bullshit..I feel sorry for the lads in the forces, brainwashed or otherwise..Not many wars are just, nowadays are they?

I'm sure many lads who join up don't have a clue that they are to be pawns in politician's agendas, they learn that later,if at all..Iraq case in point.Profoundly wrong all the same...

Will history have,in twenty, fifty years time, all these soldiers full of remorse, saying "I was following orders,I'm so sorry now.."like all the ex-nazis did? I dunno,as we know the victors tend to write the history..But wrong is still wrong, however you look at it...And it would take massive bollocks for an active serving soldier, to turn round and say to his commander,"Fuck you daft cunt,I aint got no quarrel with them Viet Kong" or words to that effect, when he knows in his heart it is all ultimately, evil. It's the army's job to keep that secret from them.Very hard thing to do for the army now,as opposed to the past, when information on EVERYTHING is so much more readily available, and people can more easily form their own informed views on anything ..If they want to,that is.Ofcourse the army brass is given a job to do by their boss, which brings us back to that cunt,Bush specifically...Like one down the pub this is...Never gets resolved!

Everyone who fought the Nazis were heros mind, and I thank them eternally for it..Massive pride there.

I would imagine that relatively few soldiers join up because they actually want to kill people. It's more a matter of economic survival.

As long as capitalist governments continue to perpetuate such stark economic imbalance, there will always be young people willing to join the military's ranks to achieve some measure of capital--even if it is at the risk of being put in situations where killing people (innocent or not) is a possibility.

Too bad wars like Iraq are just waged to make the rich richer and create a greater economic divide. But sell people on the idea of patriotism and a fear of brown skinned heathens and you've got a self-perpetuating shitstorm.

Aye, must admit, I was wondering that myself (Which Regiment?), since the amalgamation of Scotland's various regiments. I suppose he meant the Royal Regiment of Scotland. (Although I was thinking of the H.L.I and the "fighting 51st". Who held front-line unrelieved, for longer than any other regiment in history during WW2).

But your post in genral hit the nail on the head: particularly "cannon fodder". Exactly.

Agreed, awful is't it.. But what about Prince William and Harry, and all the Sandhurst set though? Or the American version,Westpoint? Not much need for economical survival there,I'd wager. Not that Wills and H will see any action,mind..Do THEY just join to kill people?Or is it the old romantic, sadly outdated and now cynically abused, for Queen and Country(Yanks patriotism similarly) notion, that compels them to join. It's looking more and more a naive notion in modern context, exploited as a tool by the powers that be.:skeptic:

Who's killing "wholly innocent civilians"?

I have never met anyone that joined because they wanted to kill someone.....

this is by far one of the assinine posts I have seen in awhile... Sort yer shit out before you post MIMX

Well it's been a while since we've known this war was poorly conceived by a cabal of crooks. Honestly anyone who has joined the Army or the Marines in order to go serve our country in the past two to three years hardly deserved support or praise and quite the opposite.

There is no reason to be there at the moment other than to keep billing our government to pay overpriced corporate ventures in the Middle East. We're interfering in a civil war and are not wanted there by any of the parties.

In other words the officer class, who'll become the Generals ect that tell the "cannon fodder" when to die (or kill). The upper class, who's economic interests (protecting markets/raw materials etc) 99% of wars are fought for? It's exactly their economic survival that is at stake in their wars (The common soldier owns no oil fields, land, or other means of production). They didn't go to war to fight Fascism: a sizeable majority were, and still are, Fascist, if not outright Nazi (Sandhurst & Westpoint graduates).

I'm with Orwell War is just an efficicient way of burning up resources to stop the proles having too good a life......or more accurately to stop the advancement of the race.

As I often mention, the vietnam war would have paid for every ship, station and base seen in the movie 2001, but setting fire to small yellow kids was more important.

I however, am past caring, fuck you all you retarded fucking monkeys, if all you care about is fucking and slaughtering, our race doesn't actually deserve to survivie long enough to leave the cradle.

It's not surprising the yanks love wars so much ( I mean a war on TERROR?.....I'm terrified of crabs, so are they gonna bomb the sea (and miss)? )....they teach religious mumbo jumbo in science classes and their leaders say "science" like they uses to say "communism".

What I find interesting and disturbing is how Hollywood charactures have delved so deeply in people's minds that they actually believe it to be truth.

Answer me a few questions:

  1. How does the Army (or any organization) keep the soldiers from understanding the 'truth' in the 21st century? That's just silly, since they can all watch all the news programs just like you can...

  2. Where are these orders that resort to the purposeful killings of women and children?

  3. Where are you EXACTLY getting yer information that soldiers (or Marines) listen blindly to orders?

I find it a bit funny that people that never set foot on a base, let alone joined the military, are going to school me on the workings of the military....

It's a law not to criticize the President or second-guess your CO. So that keeps the ugly truths from coming out from within the military itself. Just look at that fucking chimp General who recently retracted his earlier rah-rah-Iraq-winnable sentiments once he retired. Of course, now that he isn't part of the shit-stem, he can say what he should have said all along.

Pope, if you haven't realized but every job has rules that you don't go against yer boss or you'll get canned.... does it mean you do EVERYTHING your boss wants you to? Military's no different... well almost... you do have a trust in your superiors that you just don't have elsewhere... and no that's not brainwashing... there's been plenty of officer's I've said "Roger that!" to, and yet done the way that it should have been done instead of the way they ordered it... and no I didn't have to worry about being court martialed, I just had to prove that I was right... like most professions, it depends on your ability to trust the individual...
