Right, looks like Eurostar and then TGV train is quickest way of doing it, then hope its warm or there's a blag chance somewhere! Logistical mare though, that's for sure. Still, it has to be done.

Also,why couldn't they be playing Greece this weekend instead of Germany?!

What's going on then with this one? Who's got tickets, and what are the plans for getting there? We have about a week left to get discount Eurostar tickets that don't require a Saturday night stay in France to secure the best price.

Latest update on this one, there's a Eurostar that leaves Waterloo at 8.12am that gets to Paris at 11.47am, connection to Gare Montparnasse on Metro 4 will take half an hour, then it's the 13.05 TGV8621 to Guingamp (16.30pm). At Guingamp there are special buses laid on to take people to the venue. This now costs £79.50 (and £49.50 back), but it is probably easier and cheaper than train to Southampton, flying to Brest and then the hour back to Carhaix, and it is a hell of a lot easier than the all-day drive!

I reckon im gonna try and get the Friday off and do this one. As i cant do T in the park cos im at the Grand Prix that weekend. OK to tag along? Are you all gonna do the Eurostar? If not, im happy to bring my motor, could probably borrow a caravan as well, but that means well drive at 60 miles an hour...oh dear. Unfortunately, i dont think i`d get away with using my fuel card in France!

Does anyone know if it would be better to either sail/train from Dover-Calais (or similar), then coast road it? Not sure how good the roads are.

6hr16 from Calais, 3hr58 from Le Havre according to AA. They are normally pretty accurate. Whichever option, i would be coming down from Sheff, and could go via London, then M3 if anyone wants picking up.

Train back at 7.52 from Guingamp. Thats a bit of a wait...then again pubs are open late over there.

This rumour that they are on at 3pm had better be wrong, that's all I can say! Can anyone ITK check with Andy Rob please?

How you doin Greg? Not sure what im doing yet, but if i drive, ideally it would be from somewhere west country (Weymouth, Poole, Plymouth), over to (cant remember the name of the town - near the festival anyway)but the ferry connections are shite - the ones i looked at dont run Thursdays! Shame because an 8 hour overnight crossing would probably be a good piss up, although id be limited to just a few, obviously. The more ive looked at it, the more im tempted to do Eurostar on Friday morning from Waterloo to Paris then TGV it to Guingamp. Anyway, i`ll have another look at the boat times and let you know.

Tim, i assume the cost applies to Paris onwards only - How much is the Eurostar from London and back?

If the ferry option is used: Plymouth-Roscoff 1500 Thursday 21st Roscoff-Plymouth 0830 Saturday 23rd. Also an overnight crossing from Roscoff. About £90 each. Its probably the best route as the majority of the driving is in the UK, its only an hour to the festival from Roscoff.

That was the total cost, from Waterloo to Guingamp. IT has now gone up considerably though as there are less than 21 days before the event. Now works out at the best part of £160. Anyone fancy a drive from Calais? May work out the cheapest way if not the quickest. Early start and ferry should work out that its a long drive but would get there in time for a 10pm start or whatever!

Depends which port you leave from and travel to. Shortest is Dover/Calais over sea, which takes about an hour. Eurotunnel (car transporter by train) or the Eurostar rail link takes 20 minutes.

I have looked at all the routes and it dosent seem to make much difference overall. I reckon i`m gonna go with Plymouth - Roscoff as it involves the least amount of driving on the other side. In addition to what i posted about sailings, there is one back at about 2200 on the Saturday which sounds a bit better than on the boat at 0830 the morning after a gig! Gets into Plymouth early Sunday.
