Now I'm confused, if I play these teasers, will I still make it to heaven?

For what it's worth, out of the four tracks, I think they've managed to include the three worst songs on the album. They're also the three that are kind of out of sync with the overall feel of it.

All New Order fans are going to buy this album no matter what. The point, I presume, was to play the non-NO type songs, in order to snare in non-NO listeners.

What amused me was how BS pretty much said he thinks Krafty was a boneheaded single choice (though I disagree with him!) :)

After the first listen, I thought 'if this is indicative of the rest of the album it's going to be embarrassing'. Get Ready seemed like a classic. I then checked out the reviews of those people who've heard all the album and saw that WO, ITYS and Jetstream were more or less considered the worst tracks. I gave them another listen and am now looking forward to the rest of the album. WO seems a fairly average track, ITYS definitely has some 'All that she wants' thing going on - but it's catchy: 'cut loose and run away with me'. Jetstream I hated first time but listening with an open mind has made me appreciate it for what it is - a decent pop song. If these are the worst songs then I'm optimistic.

Why doesn't anybody mention that first song? I sounded kinda nice. Good bassline & drums, some synths and a catchy chorus. I couldn't really make it out, because Bernhards was singing quite low. Something like 'love will melt our hearts' or something.

Nevermind, I liked the other songs better anyway....

Originally posted by Robert Plizga I previously wrote that 'Krafty' sounded like a mediocre Electronic song. I take that back; it grew on me and its not as bad as I thought. However I still maintain that it is the worst 1st single of an NO record. I like the cover of WFTSC. It has the look of a generic product, just like Substance. I think this is supposed to contrast with the unique/exceptional music we (hopefully) will find on the record.

Are you being serious here?!

A J WELLS you can relax jetstream, working overtime, and i told you so are the worst trax on the album. Though I agree with you, how can they release songs like that. I agree with you 2 Andy draculas castle is one of the best songs. By the way when I look at the cover I can see the reviews like when happy mondays made yes please and they wrote NO THANKS

Well I useally hate reggae/ska trcks, but I love "I Told You So" !! Then again, I love everything they do anyway,so ,,,. But seriously,I think it's very brave of them to try out such a " Un New Order like" track.

Just listening; besides Jetstream the other songs sound different enough from whatever has been created before to stay optimistic about the whole album. I think its great NO are unpredictable in a certain way. Curious about the rest.

Well guys, i dont know about the rest of you that havent heard the album yet, but having a chance to hear this broadcast was EXHILERATING...im sure thats the way all die hard new order fans feel upon hearing new material for the first time, but that was quite a rush. "Working Overtime" SERIOUSLY surprised me, who the hell knew they were gonna make a track like this?? lol, I really like the sound and the heavy depth of it, but, i need a bit of time to process that this is indeed new order and not some other up and coming euro rock band lol. the only track on get ready that sounds anything even remote to this is rock the shack. It will likely stand alone as new orders heaviest track ever, so it has no basis for comparison.

Well most people on here have heard Krafty at this point, so this didnt come as any sort of surprise, but my personal take on krafty is that it has seriously grown on me, and now i think it ranks up there with other new order classics. The guitar section right around the "wobbly" drum sound noise towards the end of the song is vintage new order.

"I told you so" was my favorite out of the four tracks, i think i already love this song, its fresh and full of energy.

"Jet Stream" was a bit disappointing to me, im gonna need more time to soak this one in, and get past the initial grimace when he says "J-E-T", they could have done better with this one.

This is extremely encouraging, at least to me. My ranking thus far: 1) I told you so, 2) Krafty, 3) Working Overtime, 4) Jet Stream

Hey Huntsy, good to read your good name! Hope everything's allright for you.

As for those four songs, I love "Krafty" and hope the other 3, whatever AJ Wells says, will grow on me...

Ladies and Gentlemen, the legendary Mr. Buster 'Keaton' Klumpy!

Things are nothing short of beautiful sir.

Good to see you back on-line. I've only heard a whisper of Krispy so far, I'm waiting for the sirens, so to speak, so that they can kick off on the day of days before I tuck into my evening meal.

how do you become one of the elite who get to hear the whole album months before its release?

i feel like others who hope that there are better tracks on the album, but i do know that NO usually requires a few listens before i really like it. im just happy they are still making music since when i started liking them (1994) i thought they would never make another album.

you don't have to be elite to use soulseek. i've seen all but 1 song off the album hosted on various MP3Blogs but dare not post links to them to this site. If you want them, they are there, you just have to look and not rely on others to do the work for you.

Right, had a quick listen. And Its fair to say people here can be miserable feckers at times.

I told you so is decent enough, Working Overtime is excellent - why the bad reviews of that one? - very strange. Krafty - just can't like it I'm afraid, that phones remix is much better (ANyone who agrees with that by the way, check out his remix of Bloc Party's Banquet - song of the year IMO)

Jetstream is fine and decent - no it's hardly Joy Divison, but it's a cracking pop tune - simple as that. I can understand hardcore NO fans not liking it mind you.

Call me easy, but they are all brilliant new order. Classic combo of guitar, keys, hooks bass... yet exploring different sounds. Sounding a bit like Electronic vocals on overtime or told you so (can't remember which), anyway kind of Twisted Tenderness.

NO is a great example of true artists. A band that has a signature style, yet tweaking, experimenting.

GREAT JOB NO! can't wait for more!!!!

wish they would release those extra songs as an EP right after Sirens.

The title track arrived and if this is the best track on the record then... I dont know what to say... there is actually a lovely song inside this one somewhere... a delicate, plaintive adult popsong... but this lot cant seem to find it... in its place we have another hackneyed chorus and overblown plodding production...

Can anyone imagine what Your Silent Face would have sounded like with a chorus? Age Of Consent with a chorus? Most latter day NO songs are destroyed by their choruses... Does every song really need a chorus?

Especially when you cant write them?

Imagine this song with the initial coda repeated more and more delicately, with the initial themes developed more sensitively and fully... those two little hanging notes are lovely, but everything else is awful... so why not just have a song with the two hanging notes?

And if they thought that John Denver wanted to be paid for Run, imagine what Fab Macca will want when he realizes that Nowhere Man has been lifted so liberally... lets hope this record sells enough to pay the man...

If everyone is so gagga over Low-Life and Technique, and their die-hard fans feel like their last album was a piece of crap, then why in the hell does N.O. feel it's so necessary to recreate that which most of us want to forget? I know they must be in their 70's by now but all it has to mean is they could dish out mellow stuff like '1963' or 'Your Silent Face'. They were the forefathers of electronica but it appears their sound, which most of fell in love with, has all but disappeared.

RE.4 any problem with that?

OK, smart ass.In that case you should know better. "To make a fun of forein accent is the most juvenile and cheapest form of racism". I mean, even school boys can do it. Obviously you have a very low standard of "having a fun".
