Finally heard the legal bits (I'm beginning to regeret my moral decision for the year, should have given up sweets like everyone else. But I don't really like sweets, so that would be cheating.).
Krafty is a grower. I found myself singing it on my bicycle last week. It would have even bigger potential if the lyrics were a bit better, I'm not talking Shakspeare here, just not that annoying. Even the stars and tree bit could pass, but the lakes and trees and the human race is a no-no. Apart from the lyrics it's wonderfully catchy. A definite 
I Told You So is OK. It sounded a bit mishmash at the first listen, but give it a few listens and you'll like it. Not up with the classics though; not experimental enough. Not reagge/ carribean enough. Still,
Working Overtime i loved at the first listen-I was working overtime at that very moment ! Much better than their last attempt at the Stooges. For everyone still at work at six,
Jetstream is the only song that I didn't like. I haven't got a clue why it would be a single, apart from the girl from Scissor Sisters (it is a girl, right ?). I enjoyed their song at the Brits (were transmitted here on Saturday), especially the singing watermellons (you just can't beat singing fruit), otherwise I'm not familiar with them. Still, the song has no single potential whatsoever, it's by far the weakest of the four, not catchy, not a quality song.
So, 3 out of 4, so if those are some of the weaker songs of the album, it could be a fine one.

I got a copy today of the full album today and after about 20 seconds realised it isn't the finished article. The production was very inconsistent (with the exception of Krafty which sounds close to final). I have decided to give it a miss until it's released late in March.
FYI the track names on the earlier version are incorrect.

*Uhm, I think there might be small adjustments here and there (and actually some of us have had the impressions they happened on the definitely final versions broadcasted) but the 99% of the work is done. I wouldn't really call this production inconsistent, all the producers, including New Order themselves, have made an excellent work, especially on the more complex stuff like I Told You So.
FYI the track names on the earlier version are incorrect.
*Of course, some of the tracks in the promo have the old working titles. Obviously the final titles were chosen after the promo started circulating...

I believe I felt the same about Jetstream on the first times I've listened to the album, my "new order fan" side was attacked...
But now, I skip Dracula's Castle too often to jump to Jetstream.... ;)

I Told You So as featured on the free NME CD is exactly the same as the leaked one, but in general I agree.
A short story ilustrating the cheerful qualities of Krafty:
Yesterday on my way to work I got a puncture on my bicycle's rear tyre . Moreso, as I rode on an empty tyre, the inner tube slipped out and got entangled in the rear brake, so I pushed the bike for the last couple of hundreds of meters. I couldn't repair it at work, so I started to ride home on an empty tire. Around that time it began to snow heavily. The inner tube slipped out three more times, the last time it got so entangled in the chain and the shifting mechanism thai I ended up ripping it of and finishing my ride on the outer tyre alone. Halfway between the slippings I also fell off the bike in a pile of fresh and not so fresh snow. I came home near half past seven-I usually arrive around six. Why am I telling you this ? Because all the way through my journey I kept singing Krafty, and happy I felt. My favourite bit was about the stars and the trees.
I also must suffer - I'm a mac user and I can't bear the thought of any windows/real player software taking up space on my hard drive.
I did get to her Krafty at work, it was ok, it didn't blow me away. It reminded me of twisted tenderness.
Main problem I see if that all I heard for months was that it was more of a return to the Technique period rather than Get Ready(the Sequel) but when I heard Krafty, it didn't exactly remind me of Love Less or Mr. Disco or any of those perfect 9 tracks. If you're looking for Technique2 I think you'll be disappointed.
But I love the guys for what the represent (my College years) and I always said in 1995 that I would still be listening to New Order when I'm in the nursing home and I still stand by that.

Get some puncture "Sludge" mate!.I swear by it.Pump it into them tubes and then when you get a hole in the tube it zips to the area and seals it.No punctures!! genius stuff
ok ok im a little behind but i finally listened to the whole cd. brilliant, just genius. i found myself saying for every next song, "no no! stop its too much! its too good!" especially with guilt and turn. god i love dancy stuff 
Had the privilege of hearing four tracks from the album, but I really dont want to hear any more. Initial thoughts are that this could be a true return to form.
"I told you so" (from the NME sampler)
This is not such a strange departure for New Order. “Turn the Heater on” was in a similar vein and there is definitely some dna of “touched by the hand of God” in there. It’s lazy to review tracks by comparison to others, but difficult not to if you have listened to New Order for most of your life. “Ace of Base” my arse! I must confess I was nervous about playing this song for the first time given the views of others who had reviewed this, but that intro is just classic electronic New Order!
“Krafty”
Heard the debut play on radio 1 weeks ago – this is actually quite a good song, a real grower consistent with much of New Order’s quality stuff. You soon forget the lyrics…..New Order still have an amazing capacity to create songs that just seem to get under your skin and stay there…….for years. The dynamic of the song kinda reminds me of “Face Up” - fairly dramatic intro which lightens up pretty abruptly. Always remember playing “Low Life” for the first time and that track was sort of dissapointing after the initial dramatics, but now one of my faves……
“WTFTSC” & “Hey Now What You doing”
Two future classics here – the former is going to be one of those timeless pieces – I think it has some similarities in “Leave me Alone” (maybe that’s just the sea references), but there is more that makes me think that – just can’t put me finger on it yet – “Hey Now…” I liked immediately. Need to listen to this one more but it alone beats most of Get Ready hands down, (excluding Crystal).

I think the Waiting For the Sirens Call album is very much where Get Ready left off. The lyrics are the usual corny took 10 minutes to write stuff. Barneys vocals are a bit shot in places too. The production is very nice though and you can notice the input from various producers. Most tracks are guitar based but Id say 3 tracks were dancy. Guilt is A Useless emotion being my favourite as I dont think Barneys vocals style suit Jetstream or I Told You So as well.
The songs are a bit on the long side and I would have liked a return to Technique style instrumentation (as this is by far their best album). Also the songs follow similar themes of lost loves and lost friends a bit much.
However, after critising it I still think its a good album and look forward to seeing the band at V2005!
