Jetstream and Rock the shack are without a doubt the worst New Order songs. I don't think you can really even count MTO as a song. B-sides shouldn't count anyway. These are songs they decided to put on an album! And even release one as a single!

i can't belive some people are still bitching over Jetstream... my god... World in Motion...that is an embarassing song.

I think New Order that they made bad songs so I know not to make songs like those bad ones. Whatever they are. I hope to write a song thats as good as Rock the shack though!! :D

All off Movement.

Ultraviolence off PCL.

Nothing from Low-Life

Every Second Counts off Brotherhood.

Technique is perfect.

Nothing on Republic grates.

Slow Jam off Get Ready.

Working Overtime off WFTSC.

Wouldn't 'Tasty Fish' be great as a NO song :D but a little less synth sounding, you know, throw a bit of hooky's bass in there and that would be a classic NO song, Gillian's vocals could remain also, just like when Hooky had a track or two with his vocals on Movement.

Other's that would of been good as NO songs... Hmm, Reality would of been a good one. Sorry for the sudden change of subject, I originally read this thread as 'What song you wish New Order WOULD have made?' So i'll now get to the original subject;

Songs that NO shouldn't have made?

Times Change There's a few on Movement I believe.

Oh and btw, 'Chemical' is bloody great, so is 'Young Offender'.

Rock the Shack is the only new order song i'm embarassed about...

I always had pride in knowing that I could enjoy all New Order albums in the past. I have to say though they should have scrapped most of the new album. I can stand maybe 3 or 4 songs on it.

I have to defend Rock The Shack, I rather like it. Same with Every Little Counts; it's a fun little song.

But as for the worst songs, I'd have to say:

Guilt

Working Overtime ( I just can't bear to listen to this at all)

Slow Jam

NEVER! It's one of their finest!

To answer the question, I wish they'd never made a song like Crapstream... Sorry, that's their nadir...

Lyrically one of NO's better songs. Autobiographical, political and social.

But how can the portrait of an only son also have a brother who said that he was dead?

I think that you can take your pick from the new album- Hooky and Steve should give Barney a talking to and tell him to get his finger out and start writing lyrics that aren't a total embarrassment.

And is it just me, or are New Order starting to sound like Barney's side-project to Electronic?

My first impression of WFTSC was that quite a few of the songs have a heavy Twisted Tenderness kind of Electronic Sound; so that makes me think that Barney is in charge on the songwriting front.

As for the popularity of this debate... should we start a new thread; Do you wish New Order had never been made - sheesh -

As far as sounding like Electronic, I think Electronic have some better songs that wftsc does. Off the album I can only really enjoy Who's Joe, hnwyd, wfstc, krafty, and wo. And sometimes turn, its a song that should be great, but for some reason it feels dull lately. I think Get Ready out does it. Although, I do agree that Barney must be in control of songwriting. I think Hooky should be though, :D. I guess they'll never be the same group, we just have to love the new NO.
