What song you wish New Order never would have made?

HI everyone, my first post here. well it's gotta be subculture, i always used to skip it on the album and then when it came out as a single i could't believe it
, anyway, long time ago now, all's forgiven ;)
I can see what people think about Fine Time, but I like the 7" single because it's short and to the point. The longer versions feel like they go on and on and on... ![]()
State Of The Nation could have been avoided first. Then I have to say that I do not buy into [orange]World In Motion[/orange]. My deepest apologies if I am hurting some of you, has nothing to do with hating Football neither the British football team!!!
oh the hatred! How LOVELY ;)
For me? Rock The Shack the arrangement is too busy
"I Told You So"-electro-reggae umm NO-NEXT!!!
I love "Fine Time" maybe cause it and all of "Technique" recall acid-house and that time too clearly-so maybe dated is more like it
"Jetstream" SNORE tho Ana Matronic is cool
"Run Wild" Barney channels James Taylor. No Barney's lyrics can be really weak at times
Times Change - embarrassing and unlistenable tripe
Sub-culture 12" - OOH AHH ![]()
Anyone who says they don't like Shellshock should listen to the 12" (NOT the alledged 12" on substance - the black plastic round one)
There are three for me in total. And a few people i am sure will not agree with me but i will put them in order of worst first. Slow Jam,Run wild,And I hate to say it but Sub Culture ?Now i know this does alot for alot of people but i am afraid not for me ???:\ohwell:
Where do we start? Doubts Even Here, ICB, Mesh, Cries & Whispers, Ecstasy, Sooner Than You Think, Shellshock/Cock, State/Shame of the Nation, that Subculture 12", Perfect Kiss (edit), Way of Life, All Day Long, Angel Dust, All The Way, Guilty Partner, Times Change, Liar, Young Offender, 60mph, Vicious Streak, Guilt Is A Useless Emotion (album version), Jetstream (album again).
There's been at least one howler on each and every album.
Though I'm sure a lot will disagree.

With something like Fine Time, the shorter the better. The best version is zero inches, zero minutes, and zero seconds.
I got meself a deck for my birthday last week and have been playing most of my old vinyl, so I am pretty qualified to say the whole of Technique can go in the bin!

It´s a joke Al Jarvis? ![]()
Bloody hell Al you have snubbed some good ones there mate ?
Like 60mph,and Perfect Kiss ???
But people are people and if we all liked the same things life would be very boring i guesse.
this is my first post here.
i've been a fan since 1991 and i think 'Guilt is a Useless Emotion' is the best song on the album, the chorus is brilliant and it's the only cut on the album that actually sounds like New Order SHOULD SOUND in 2005. and, unlike all the old-fogey rock tracks on the new album, it doesn't make my penis soft.
you guys need to stop listening to so much 'twisted tenderness' or joy division. new order is about the electronic side as well.
and as far as all the MTO haters, i drop that cut in all my old-school house sets and every f00king time i do it, someone asks me about the song - MTO is all about the VIBE, the sound of house in 1989. no other house track sounds like it BEFORE or SINCE.
and my worst NO songs:
We All Stand, Rock the Shack and Jetstream.
Subculture (12" version) was a huge influence on me - I still don't understand why people hate it so much. the electro breakdown in the middle is very much in the vein of the US 'freestyle' records of the late 80s.
and all Told You So needs is some BASS. how can it be ragga with no BASS? whoever produced that needs to visit a black nightclub.
just my opinion, thx.

Haven't snubbed Perfect Kiss, Jake. It's the edit on Low-Life which is an insult to the original. Love the original itself.
Still think 60mph is shit though. ![]()

To be honest I only like 3 of the above tracks,Way of life,All the way,and... All day long is Majestic to me...You just about covered every shite song, and bang on about Perfect kiss an all:D
jetstream, shellshock, state of the nation, fine time(boring stuff)and get ready album-apart from crystal of course
Your right Al the Album version of The Perfect Kiss is shite ?I still play both sides of the 12" on a regular basis.I watch the video alot as well.Just love watching that mate :)

MTO is so underrated as a dance record.
Glad I got my copy when it came out. Used to play it with a remix of THE BELOVED "Your love takes me Higher"
