as for my playing...i never said i was particularly good. nor that i really knew how to play...am self-taught and learn pretty much by ear. so i'm sure i do things wrongly. but it's fun to make noise...that's always how i've done it. and i really do play violently. it's mostly to do with the guitar i'd learned on...you HAD to have very violent attack to get anything out of it. and you had to throttle it to hold things down cos the action was so bad...and cos i've got rather small hands. so it, er, corrupted me.

and as mentioned previously, i am currently doing a lot of keyboard molesting abusing myself. need to get a decent keyboard of my own, though...so, must save money! and sell soul find part-time additional job at record store over the summer! have never played drums, though...i used to think i'd want to, but haven't ever got round to it.

HAVE played bass...and enjoyed it muchly. if i had more money, i'd actually have one, and of course would play it. basses are excellently good...and i REALLY adore standup ones.

...but it seems like i'm similar to your drum and keyboard criminalities in my methods of guitar-playing offence.

Plus - you'd be a dab hand when it comes to the demented screaming-thru-a-megaphone that takes place on a few of the tracks (particularly the last "song" on the first album "You're Gonna Get Your Fucking Head Kicked In", and the first track on the last one "TYOT / Ten Years Of Torture"). ;)

is that the song's title or the album's title? either way, works for me.

though i've still got to work on a problem i share in common with our beloved ickle Barneykins. which would be the minor issue that i have with singing and playing at the same time.

i'm better with that playing keyboard than i am with guitar. but i still need to work on both. and i really ought to pick up my guitar again...haven't really played it in a couple of years, 'cept for very, very sporadically. it's very sad...it must feel so neglected...

(though perhaps it's breathing a sigh of relief, reconsidering... )

sadly, cannot identify this toy on sight. will have to watch it carefully again and see if i can figure it out...and/or hope someone else here knows off the top of their head and can indulge you.

OR...(though i don't know how long this might take, as i've got a LOT to do lately) i can whip out my video capture card and actually USE it for something useful, like taking scary stills from the TotP broadcast and putting them up to amuse you and others...

the sight of Hooky nearly foaming at the mouth over this particular toy is highly, highly entertaining. and scary.

I was going to hook up the VCR and capture some old video of "the band" covering "Rid of Me," but the VCR's in the other room, and it's just so far away, and dusty, and I'm too friggin' lazy.

and i don't blame you one bit, honestly. sick curiosity drove me to it, but i was pretty sure i wouldn't really enjoy it...how CAN you, knowing that they're going to MIME, fer chrissakes?

still...if you want, i can capture just one good shot of Hooky and the drums, so you can see it...that way no miming is involved. though the frightening visage of Hooky foaming at the mouth and raging at the drums may haunt you in your dreams...and i refuse to be held responsible for any such actions should the result, since i've warned you now and all...
