These guys will be playing in their 60's on the rubber chicken and Indian casino circuit and making a pile of money doing it. (Something that never happened on Factory because of the money of The Hacienda)

2017...Barney will look like Denny Crane Peter will look like a real Viking Steve will still look like Steve :stephen::tank:

LMFAO!!

What about Phil?!?! :evil4:

Phil will get plastic surgery and dead fly dancing lessons and double for Ian C. when they play as Joy Division.:deal:

Two shows a day at Foxwood Estates and Mystic Lake casinos, afternoon and evening....seating for 3000 at $35 a head...coming in 2017!!

Thanks for posting that - great stuff.

I particularly like Hooky's "No bovvered" about the death of NO.

I'm not bovvered either - far too busy for them this year.

I think, now that this news has come along and poured a little Vaseline inside troubled passages, maybe we should all take punts on exactly which band WILL call it a day first - even if they're now going to last for at least another 200 years:

New Order?

or

The Cure?

Difficult eh?? ;):shades:

I would like to make a comment about New Order splitting up I will be really sad:cry: I have been so dedicated to this band :) for years. I don't find it amusing that people are so happy that they are splitting up:nonono: oh well could say I'll treasure the happy memories of them and of course Hooky:blush: for a long time. Honestly why so much hatred towards them.

I am glad New Order is not splitting up. It tore me up when they did in early '90.

As for their new project with Control, I believe New Order should have done the cover song Shadowplay instead of the Killers and all of Joy Divisions songs. Because that is New Order's legacy.

If and when the movie premieres in the US I look forward to seeing it just because of their history. It was a loss loosing Ian Curtis, but what came out of it is the continuing story of New Order.

I have seen New Order twice in my lifetime and Electronic once when Neil Tenant came onstage. Everything they have done as artists have been a blessing. I hope to see them all again on stage. Please come to the US again and on the east coast, since I no longer live in Southern California.

You want Joy Division fans to piss on New Order again? I rather see the Killers getting all the shit.

It's time to reactivate this thread. NME says:

New Order split up - this time for good? Peter Hook says the band definitely are no more

As previously reported the band denied they were splitting earlier this year despite drummer Stephen Morris being quoted as saying: "We should stop for a while."

Speaking about his involvement in Perry Farrell's Satellite Party, Peter Hook told Xfm that the band have broken up.

He said: "I spoke to Perry, and he asked me to play bass, as he'd heard about New Order splitting up. Well yeah, me and Bernard (Sumner) aren't working together."

When asked if the split was permanent, he added: "Bernard went off for a break with Electronic, but that was different. But it's like the boy who cried wolf this time."

So, don't believe anyone unless it's Bernard!

If the split means Barney re-uniting with Marr for another Electronic project then I'm all for it :D

Shittiest news I've had so far this year if it is true. If it hadn't been for the Order, I probably never would've got into most of the stuff I'm listening to now. You know what they're like, though; they say they're splitting and then come back. I'll believe it when there's a formal announcement!

i'm confused guys... are they splitting or not??? dont know what to think. anyway i have seen them alive... i can rest in peace.

Not only am I a bit confused, I also would like to hear from the other three---Phil, Stephen, and Bernard about this. If I hear this confirmed as true that they are splitting up from every member of NO, then I will be convinced.
