Agree with Biginoil and I don't think this is anything new except that Hooky has the direct means now to air his views. Criticising Hooky is mad, you can't get anyone more pro New Order than him. When I met him a few years ago I got the impression that had he not had more people wanting to talk to him, he would have happily sat and talked Joy Division/New Order with me all night. Hooky has also always been the most revealing in interviews about himself and Bernard a lot more guarded. And credit Hooky with some intelligence on this, maybe he knows a bit more about how to motivate Bernard than anyone else. Have a look at the Bernard/Prozac documentary on YouTube; even Johnny Marr, certainly one of the coolest and alledgedly one of the nicest people on the planet, had problems trying to coax him into writing lyrics!

Some good points there, and wonderfully put.
Who do you think you are? There's no place for people like you on this board.

I thought you'd given that sick stuff up. Old habits die hard eh? Thought you showed too much of an interest in that film that was showing in the Akihabra Porn Hypermarket.![]()
Jesus - work hard all your life, bring up a family, treat those around you well and you get no thanks at all.
You get caught in the girls toilets ONCE and you never hear the bleedin last of it.
Gretton wouldn't have stood for this, mark my words ![]()

Face it, has any great band ever finished amicably ? I can't think of one. I remember when Buck's Fizz split into 2 warring factions arguing over the name ownership and touring simultaneously. What a kerfuffle.
Justin Lee Collins is going to have to think about making a "New Order Reunited" documentary, just like he did with the A-Team and Grange Hill. He could always act as Hooky's stunt double.

It's all a bit of a fucking mess.
pretty much sums it up. Haven't been online for nearly a week, good to see that when I do, I haven't missed anything

When a bands fans start drawing any kind of analogy with Bucks Fizz, it's over.
Bye everyone!

If memory serves me correctly I think that bloke from Dollar got dragged into the mix of the later incarnations of The Fizz. There's a warning from history, if ever there was.
Incidentally is that a picture of Lena Olin from the Unbearable Lightness of Being in your profile ? I haven't seen that film in years and I'm getting all hot & bothered all over again.

As an overall experience I think it is. Movement (whilst it has some good songs, albeit ones that are trying very hard to emulate IC) is swamped in appallingly muddy production. PC&L has some cracking songs, but also some unmemorable rubbish that sounds like unsuccessful attempts to get the computers to write the songs.

Seriously, back in 1990, Bernard was working on Electronic, and we have not heard at all any collaborations or ideas or anything concerning Bernard up to this point. I'm not saying there isn't, but if there is, it's well hidden.
Think you're jumping the gun there, Nicos!
Barney will have solo material out before Freebass release anything.
I sure hope so!
Though it's true this freebass material is taking ages to be released.

No..he's actually a really good DJ. I've heard way way worse and I've worked as a sound tech for nightclubs in New York. He spins a good variety instead of four 909's all night long. But....I would hate to see New Order go the way of Talking Heads...great classic band that ended up in court and not friends. As I posted on Hooky's myspace....I had a friend who's dad was a music journalist..he had met a lot of big rock names. He said rock stars were childish. I would believe it. I got into New Order in part because they seemed way above that kind of thing. They seemed more artistic, humble and could play some dance music without having to act like prissy stars. Too bad it seems like they can't speak like grown men and figure something out, being part of a prestigeous organization that has industry wide respect in both the mainstream and the underground. A rare position. But if they want to piss it off like babies and end up in court before they become faded stars they can go on. I thought they were a lot better than that but maybe fucking not.

Go pick a corner if you want.
Nowadays my common sense is returning, and I actually agree with what AJ said.
Now get over it, Jeff. 'Insulted us' my ass.

It's a beautiful machine. A true work of art. And it's kick drum sound has probably soundtracked most of your nights out.
