I thought they were a lot better than that but maybe fucking not.

What's a 909?

i speak as a new A3 fan...

It's a beautiful machine. A true work of art. And it's kick drum sound has probably soundtracked most of your nights out.

Nothing to add to that. Except.....go get yourself one for free here.......

I've been hearing "Frisco" since I was a kid, so that's at least 20+ years..

The only positive I see possibly coming from this is that maybe, just maybe we shall hear from Electronic or Monaco again? Two great bands that gave everyone some breathing room.

Okay. Maybe 16 or more classic singles? But any interesting album besides of a compilation?

I worked out how to fix them once. I'm sure it was just by typing in a later post that sorted it out.

Edit: or just, as Dr suggested, by posting until a new page starts...

There has been loads of comments made on them keeping the name 'New Order' instead of changing it to something else. There was one comment which implied that this reduced Gillian to a mere helper when she left!

Undoubtedly the idea of changing name when someone leaves was a brilliant idea in 1979 but nowadays it doesn't make sense, financially. The name 'New Order' puts arses on seats in live arenas and shifts records and considering that they're now in their fifties why would they want to change it and start all over again? Plus I'm sure London/Warners would have something to say about it as well!

When Factory went tits up, so did the notion of NO as an independant, punk influenced band. On a major label you either get a royalty cheque or a bill and I'm sure the cheque is more appealing. Therefore there's no point in applying thirty year old ideals onto a business.

Pity, because I'm looking forward to Bernard & Stephen coming back as "The WitchDoctors of Zimbabwe". Or maybe "Adolf's Army" (Steve: "What's wrong with that ? Oh, we've done it again haven't we ?")

Agree 100%. It really is sad that a guy of Hooky's calibre is reduced to this kinda bitching to make himself noticed. Boooooooooooooooooooooooo

If you pop over to the dark side, heather has well and truly laid into someone about their comments on the whole matter.

and rightly so.

you fail to mention that the reason she "laid into someone" was because they called her dad a "fucking immature prick".

and it fucking sucks how you people can turn on the one guy that's given you the most out of all the people in that band

i didn't see barney or steve at your nool day

i didn't see barney or steve listening to hundreds of songs for the community cds and picking the ones for the cd

i don't see barney or steve giving interviews or interacting with fans

my dad's not doing all this to be a bastard, new order has been a major part of his life for over 25 years. he's doing this because things have happened within that band that cannot be repaired, and you people on here have no idea what's happened so you should all just accept that the band is gone for now and try and get over it, instead of slating the one person who's trying to tell you all what's going on.

Good on yer Jack.

This is the first sensible thing posted on one of these "let's blame hooky for every thing" threads.

I think everyone should stop adding fuel to the fire, give them all the space they need and deserve, and maybe they will sort things out in the future.

can we stop these pointless threads now.

Jack, if you can't take criticism of your Old Man then maybe you shouldn't read these threads.

No point in snapping at people just cos they voice an opinion.

From an outsider's point of view the facts set down in black and white look pretty straightforward -

Hooky says he doesn't want to be in New Order anymore (shame, but fair enough).

But the others then come out and say, actually, they do want to carry on as New Order.

Hooky then says he doesn't want them to carry on as New Order.

There's got to be a lot more to it than that. But that's all anyone on these forums knows, so what do you expect?!

Chill.

On the basis that my guess is as valid as any other guess, I guess that Peter has finally tired of Bernard calling all the shots regarding New Order. I strongly guess that Bernard believes that NO is his band and he decides what happens and when it happens. And I make this guess conscientiously believing the same to be true and by virtue of the provisions of the Statutory Guesses Act of 1835

or maybe, just maybe, the people who are criticising him should stop as they have no idea what they're talking about...

Think its time the moderators locked the threads now. Its not Jacks decision to keep quiet, he's just respecting his old fellas wishes. Cant really blame him for being upset/annoyed about some attitudes on here.

Yeah, cos right enough, if someone dandered up to you in the bar and said "oi, Jarvis, yer da's a cunt!", you'd buy them a beer as opposed to beating them to a twitching jelly?

Even I'D get miffed at that, and my da IS a cunt.

Fcuk me. Talk about blowing this out of proportion. :nonono:

If someone called my Dad a cunt, I'd kick them into tomorrow.

If, however, my Dad had a rant on a Myspace blog and someone read it and said, "Fcuk me, your old fella was a bit strong there, wasn't he?" I'd have to agree.

Big difference, Cambo.
