Nah, it still doesn't work. The m4a-files and three of the jpg-files works fine, but the rest of the files won't unpack. I get the following message:

I extracted it with 7-Zip and it worked fine.

Whatever you're using to unzip is choking because of the " character in the file names. Look around for a different program to use.

I extracted it with WinZip and it's fine too... If problems, try another extraction program - they're tons out there...

Thanks for the tip(s)! Neither winzip nor winrar worked, but 7-Zip worked like a charm!

So will some of the unique edits from the French "World In Motion" CD single make it to one of the forthcoming "odds-and-ends" or "further listening" discs?

No, those are just shorter edits of the full-length tracks.

7 versions of World In Motion is MORE than enough, and the odds 'n' ends collections don't include any material from territories outside the UK/US.

Due to the website going down, I didn't get the chance to properly thank you all for the 1988-9 Technique-era singles. It absolutely made my day to hear some of my favourite songs of all time restored so beautifully. Just got World In Motion and while I can't say it's a personal favourite of mine it sounds fantastic thanks to your treatment.

I now have all 20 singles and am eternally grateful for all the hard work you all have put into this. Your time, effort and passion shows. I probably speak for everyone here, but I wanted to express my own personal gratitude.

Looking froward to whatever else you may have in store (including Joy Division), but you've earned a reprieve! Have a great Holiday Season and many thanks again!

This French cd is the same as my UK-copy, so these shorter versions are also released within the UK territory...

What about the video? I recently noticed that the version on the A Collection DVD is around 4 minutes...

It seems all versions of WIM are in different lengths, it is possible to create a Recycle 20 : The Edits ... Just a thought, Mike, just a thought...

Almost forgot: thanks a lot £50 Note!!! And Bruce, too!

Is there an easy way to import recycle into itunes and to auto-delete the versions of the songs i already have in itunes??

Umm, just drag everything into the main iTunes library window and delete the duplicates?

Adjust the settings in your preferences to copy songs into your library and to remove anything you delete.

What is it with people wanting every damn edit of that song? THEY'RE EDITS - THEY ARE REDUNDANT. That's like saying "well, I like this painting, but I'm going to cover up 2/3 of it when I hang it on the wall."

You're asking Bruce to spend HOURS with a song he hates trying to replicate all those edits to please one, maybe two fans. IT ISN'T GOING TO HAPPEN.

I don't think you understood my message... if this Mike and other fans wants to have all these edits, let them create their own additional Recycle discs. Nobody is asking you (and Bruce) to do that, at least I am not (anymore). However, don't be so upset if people asks about them. Í know you're working on it for already a long time, and have this great, superb Recycle idea in your head - and now even realized it. Others did not, and may have some questions about certain versions or edits. To you an edit is perhaps redundant, to others it might not. I'm not judging anybody here, but I guess this is what happens when you share such a big project with the whole wide world. Let's face it, somehow the word spreads fast, as every day more "new" fans arrive and jump on this fantastic 'Recycle-train'...

(Probably this is the worst nightmare of every person who's in charge of the tracklistings of any box-set... You simply cannot satisfy everbody, wasn't that the whole idea behind this project in the first place? The lack of good quality New Order 're-issues'... )

So, my advise: let others discuss the in- or exclusion of all the released edits/versions and don't jump on every comment that'll be posted.

I wonder, could you please include the edit of... just kidding

no....nobody gives a shit about all the edits.....except whiny ungrateful lazy bastards like you.....so go on......go away.

That's fine. They are more than welcome to spend their time and money tracking down every single variation of every single song - but that isn't what Recycle is. It's a listening experience, not a hoarding experience.

It isn't mine or Bruce's job to complete anyone's collection for them.

I better in my own language here remarks, in English because they 1) not included, 2) not read, 3) neither!

It's really tiring to be here just to post something significant, because it seems that "New Order fans" can only complain if you write something or somewhere to have your own opinion ... ie incredibly petty. And I very much regret.

"It's just as well I make comments in my own language here, because in English they are 1) either misunderstood, 2) misread, or 3) both!

It's actually quite wearying (tiresome?) to contribute anything worthy of mention here anymore, because it seems that New Order fans can only moan when you write something down or voice your opinion on anything... or else they're being incredibly narrow-minded. I find that very regrettable/deplorable."

The issue here is not voicing your own opinion - you're certainly entitled to that. Maybe something is lost in translation, but you appear to make the same point over and over, and I've already addressed it. No one is stopping you or anyone else from collecting every edit of every song, but 99% of the people in this forum DON'T want them, and are able to understand that including all that unwanted material would have seriously watered Recycle down. Neither Bruce nor myself received any pay for the amount of work we put into this project - and we didn't have to share any of it. Harping on the fact that this edit or that edit is missing comes across as seriously ungrateful, and considering you were given access to the work FOR FREE you're asking us to contribute even more of our time just to satisfy your OCD need to collect *everything*.

Enough.

Well thanks, but except for what we're calling the alternate Subbuteo dub, I didn't actually do anything. They're just rips from the Canadian CD, which I've put a bit of volume boost on. If they sound better than any other version you've heard, well I guess that's the difference between MP3 and AAC (which is really MP4).

Writing comments in my native language is not the solution either, especially when somebody is literally translating word by word... so the context is completely missed here! And £50Note you still didn't understand I wasn't offending, but defending your project! That's the 'lost in translation' part of my message.

Regarding the "shut up" message.. that's exactly what I mean: in my honsest opinion these are not normal reactions at someone's comments. And explaining the same over and over, just because of these absurd replies, yes, that's annoying and tiring...

Well, I'll shut up then, just to please a lot of you... I cannot wait to read the nice replies on this one, and yes, this is sarcastic!

Your name reminds me of the word for pineapple in Spanish. i love pineapple, Id even go as far as to say that its my favorite fruit of them all. Well at least top three, mango's and peaches are pretty tasty. Yes i didn't mention strawberry's because strawberry's are overrated. Don't get me wrong i love strawberry's but there are definitely better fruits out there. Anyway back to strawberry uhhh i mean pineapple! I enjoy it in any form: chunky slices, small chunk slices and circle sliced. Oh! and lets not forget about pineapple juice!!! you have not lived until you have chugged a tall ice cold glass of pineapple juice on a hot summer day! or any day for that matter. Speaking of juices how bout orange juice uuuhhhh right? there's another thing that's overrated. God god what is peoples obsession with OJ. Why am i forced to drink it in the morning!?! does it turn to poison in the afternoon? its tastes horrible after i brush my teeth! whyyyy! Anywho, pineapple or piña is delicious no matter how you slice it. Thank you piliña for inspiring me to write about my favorite fruit.

happy holidays!

No, those are just shorter edits of the full-length tracks.

7 versions of World In Motion is MORE than enough, and the odds 'n' ends collections don't include any material from territories outside the UK/US.

Understood. The only exception that I would request be made is for the German edit of "Confusion" on the Rough Trade Deutschland colored one-sided 7" promos. Wouldn't mind having that track in a cleaned-up digital format.

Don't hold your breath. We've already included the Factory 7" promo edit in Recycle. There is a wealth of material to go on the 1982-1983 CD without including yet another, even shorter, edit of Confusion.
