I've finally had it with Hooky. He's annoying me for many reasons.

1. Taking New Order to court
2. Constantly failing to keep his mouth shut.
3. Blocking Lost Sirens from release.
4. Playing Still live. Getting a bit tenuous. Whats next? fucking Les Baines Douche live?! JD Substance Live?!
5. Seriously thinking that Chappers mimes to his bass parts?!

Nothing against the man himself, i've always thought he was pretty cool, but he really needs to rein it in a bit. I sincerely hope this doesn't end in the courtroom and if it does i know who my moneys on.

But why do some people still love him? Just because he played bass in JD/NO? He's an arsehole and quite possibly always has been.

Also, he's got a beard so can't be trusted.

In a divorce, people often blame the party that leaves. The others have played it all with far more decorum during this whole affair, but don't assume that they haven't played their part in this breakup. It's all very sad. Selfishly I hope for great music to come out of this from both sides, and want to hear those unreleased tunes as soon as possible. If Hooky is angry, it's not for us to tell him to be quiet; it's his work and his life, so it's up to him to do things how he wants.

What I am finding increasingly tedious is the line about "somebody needs to step in and sort it out, if Rob was still here..." yada yada yada.

You are an adult, you are 56 years old. You are probably by now accountable for your own actions. If you want to call 'the others' to talk things through, go ahead. If you don't want to - fair enough, but don't defer blame on your late, great manager of the band you left.

I'm 24 years old and the idea of 56 year olds needing their former manager (who is not alive) to sort things out to be odd.

We all know that through the years Hooky and Barney have had there fall out's, and we all wonderered who really is the complete annoying twat who so annoys the other one... Sadly we now all know.. And if Hooky has always gone on like this, I am suprised NO lasted so long!!

he's the gadaffi of music because he'll keep going and justify what hes doing when people are coming to see him and paying his way.

if people stopped going to gigs etc you would see some restraint.

I had the same kind of epiphany just before the Paris gig; something snapped inside me and I just thought "what a fucking cock". Must admit that nothing he has done since has made me amend that view...........

Even I have to join in with this, as everyone knows I love hooky's bass, but he does need to stop it with the interviews, OK you're angry and it's good to get the anger out, but it's time to move on, you love doing what you're doing the hte light, and a lot of people are happy to watch that, but also to see the rest of new order playing new order songs, sort your problems out with the band in private.

I've been to The Light performances of the 2 actual Joy Division albums, and they were good although their amps were way too loud for the tiny 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C. (Jack, are you reading this?) However, I will skip the Still gig if it comes to town just because it's so much of a repeat of the 2 previous tours as far as material goes. However, if they finally get around to playing Movement, I'll be back. The 3 songs played at Buxton came across very well if they were trying to sell a Movement tour in advance. I haven't and probably won't have the option of seeing the 2011-2012 version of New Order because it is unlikely they will play in D.C. I will go see Hooky again for the music but he should really let his bass do the talking for him and just skip the interviews.

As a fan I'd love to read the words "Peter Hook and New Order reached an amicable agreement today" in the near future and that's the end of it all.

Preferably before it hits a court of law and one party loses out... badly.

Really don't want to pick sides because I still admire each member's contributions but it's obvious that Hooky's been making a bad situation worse.

Get the feeling he's so vocal because he wants it played out in the court of public opinion. Because, well, the actual court might not it see his way.

Because you basically refuse to travel beyond your doorstep? When New Order reformed last year the first two gigs were hundreds of miles away from where I lived but I still (and numerous others) made the trip. Nobody really moaned "they're not playing at my local town hall".

They'll never be able to satisfy a continent as large as the USA so fans such as yourself have to make sacrifices such as travelling beyond your city to see them. For an essentially British band such as New Order especially at this stage in the game it's completely unrealistic to expect them to play backwater gig venues just to satisfy parochial fans such as yourself.

Get off your arse and go and see them. If they're not to your liking after the effort then by all means, moan away... I'm sure we'll hear about it.

as an american, i totally agree with this. it isn't 1989 and they aren't about to play 30 or whatever US dates.

on the other hand, i wouldn't be surprised if they do a short US tour in the next 18 months, even just 8 dates or something, and in that case i'd imagine they would play major cities like NYC, Chicago, LA, Atlanta, etc.

and, come on, even if they don't play DC, the drive from DC to NYC is just five hours.... MAN UP!
