Discovered this site some years ago, when it was still called Temptation, after the closing of "The Pop Group with a Dark past" due to the mess on the message board. I just used a web search engine and landed on "Temptation".

I discovered New Order at the age of 15: it was in the summer 1987, the very first time I went out in a club, and the DJ spent the night playing songs from the freshly released Substance. Didn't know it was New Order though, until a friend of mine made me listen to his records two years later. I immediately bought Substance and Technique, and within a year I bought all other NO and JD albums. Rather strangely, I first liked the Order because of their disco songs (BM, TF, BLT, TBTHOG, R&R). I was a huge DM & PSB fan at this time, which could explain this. As time went by, I got tired of synth pop and began to appreciate the rockier side of NO and JD.

My favourite NO era is 1981-1985. PC&L, LL, Ceremony, EGG, Temptation, Confusion, TLU, TPK, IALP, Procession, Mesh, Murder, Hurt, C&W, to name a few :D... Possibly the best songs ever written.

Hi, I'm Benny. I'm not sure who I am. I'm half married, over halfway there according to the book, and discovered New Order Online about 3600 posts ago. Been a JD/NO fan since 1979, and have a ridiculously large collection of live recordings between 1979 and the start of 1989 when I retired. Veteran of far too many gigs(53)all over the shop, but yet to see them in the US or Australia.

Im Alex, 22 from Melbourne. Im want to travel to the UK for the primary reasons of soccer and music. And culturally I think I will feel at home.

Became a fan in 1997 after seeing BLT on TV, changed my life in basic terms. Got me into music in general, went from 0 cd's at the time to now 200 or so.

Also ive tried to immitate the hairsytle of the legendary A. Wilder from Depeche Mode, whos picture is on the left.

I 've in downtown Baltimore, MD. Married for about 8 months now. Been a fan since I first heard True Faith back in middle school. Finally got a chance to see New Order in Finsbury Park as part as my honeymoon. New Order is absolutly my favorite band, but some other groups I like are the Cure, The Smith, PSB, DM and many others. I currently getting into Interpol, I just saw them live live last night in DC. They are the first "new " band that I've ever gotten into in years. I'm 27 and I'm a graphic designer.

Living with Charley, my partner of nearly 13 years. Two wonderful bairns - Amy (Gemmi) aged 5, and a big fan of the song "Love Vigilantes", and Thomas, aged four months, a psychobilly-in-waiting probably. Day job rather nondescript. Spend every other month visiting Ireland. Will be movin' there when the new bairn is a little older. Used to post a lot here, but due to devotion to my latest family addition, post noticeably less now..... but that's not to say I don't love yer all! :hi:

I was so stupid that, for starters, I joined Adoplh Hitler's incredibly bad Nazi Party during the 1920's, eventually becoming his deputy and all-around-lackey. I flew to Scotland in 1941 to inspire a rather good episode of Unsolved Mysteries in 1988, when I supposedly "died". I'm still in Spandau Prison in Berlin, the power doesn't work and I haven't eaten for ages. Please send some help my way!

I found neworderonline about 6 months ago and I've been visitng int regularly but i only decided to become a ,meber about a week ago. Joy Division/New order are the best band(S) i have ever heard in my life. i honestly don't know what it is about them. Just bloody good music, whichj is akll that matters

I've been a fan of New Order since '83 although loved LWTUA when it came out in 1980. Seen them 9 times over the years and spent far too much money on their music, so my wife says.

When i'm not listening to New Order i'm watching my home town soccer team Burnley FC.

First discovered this site last year whilst trying to find something interesting on the web. Never did find anything interesting except for this place.

Im Filipe from Brasilia, Brazil.

Im 23 and discovered the site browsing the links section of the official site. At that time I was just looking for a True Faith video (the greatest video ever). Right now Im trying to finish a project in order to graduate as an Network Engineer in University of Brasilia. Among the other bands I like are Smashing Pumpkins, Placebo, Republica, Garbage and Radiohead. I discovered new order the day I heard "The Best Of" in my ex-girlfriend house and discovered that I already knew and loved all of the songs but didnt have noticed they are from the same band.

Robby i discovered Joy Division back in 1982 when i was a teenager because i liked the album covers. i didn't learn about the history of band until a year later when i had to send away for a back issue of The Trouser Press magazine to learn something about JD/NO. sadly, internet access was very limited back then.

i enjoy masturbating but have finally managed to quit golfing. i have never read Marcel Proust. i'm a socially dysfunctional pseudo-psychopath from the central ohio region wastelands. i am scared of blood and sharp things. my turn ons are the bugs on a warm summer night and french fries. my turnoffs are smokers and listening to smokers talk about themselves. i always wonder why do people always seem to pretend to discuss subjects even though they have already predetermined their conclusion beyond any doubt. i have a dog who thinks she should be alpha. i have too many CDs and underwear. i don't like cheese. why are most people so obsessed with trying to rationalize that they are very important and that the universe revolves around them? i don't understand the importance of grownup converstation. i like the shades of olive drab and nice fresh kohlrabi and cauliflower. i never can understand why almost everybody perceives things as either really good or really bad.... most things are in between those extremes, falling in a nice bell curve. people generally dislike me so you are no exception. i like pepsi. i don't like coke all that much. i'm not really sure. i'm not sure if any of that is true anyway. why must we always label our selves? My longstanding love of Neworder is something of an amusement to most of my mates, who casually think they're 'OK' but I introduced a vg mate to Technique today & the bug has well & truly bitten. :) :) :)

I graduated as electrical enginner but never worked as such. In the last 14 years I've been working in the IT field and I'm currently working as a project coordinator.

I'm also a writer and photographer for a music magazine, but I never earned a cent for this job.

I discovered Joy Division sometime in the early 80s (actually only "Love Will Tear Us Apart") but I only got into the band in 1987/88 when "Closer" and "Unknown Pleasures" have been released in Brazil. Things are better now, we don't need to wait 7 or 9 years for a release. It took some years to realize that New Order are a great band and not a "shitty pop group" as I thought. I run a Joy Division fansite in Portuguese named O Eterno that nobody ever visits. Despite the URL of my website I'm not a goth, I just got some server space with the local goth community.

I became a NewOrderOnliner just to get the videos and the MP3 files. I began to post in the forums 2 months after this. Now I moderate the Portuguese forum, which is a piece of cake. I regret not being a NewOrderOnline before because I missed the opportunity of meeting NewOrderOnliners from the other side of the Atlantic when I went to England to see New Order gigs at Brixton Academy last year.

um...i followed a link from Neworderweb(the official useless site), checked out the sound samples, videos and bio...everything. took a whole tour of the site cuz i basically knew almost nothing about new order (but i did read about ian curtis from one of my rock history books...used to love reading them.:book:) and after hearing crystal, i decided to check them out. i was never really a fan before crystal. i didn't join NOOL until nov 2001, but was around the site a lot for about a month.

I discovered New Order Online about 18 months ago (joining a little over a year ago) and have visited nearly every day since as an obsessive lurker and occasional poster.

My NewOrder story: I loved True Faith when it was re-released in '94. A little later I bought JD Substance; then a little later again, I bought Technique, second hand, as a chance buy for a mere fiver. Perhaps the best fiver I have ever spent. I have never looked back!

I also love music in general, beer, football (and many other sports, my second favourite being US fitba - my Chiefs have scored nearly 100 points in the last two games!) and following the little known Bo'ness United F.C., the subject of my own web site.

Been a fan of all types of "alternative" :rolleyes: music since the Ramones and Pistols pissed so many people off in my area when I was in high school. Loved JD, so I've been a NO fan since 80.

Still go to as many gigs as I can, and still trying NOT to turn into my father too much :lol: Also go to college football games, and spending a couple of hours at the end of a long day on great sites like this.

Jan (the male version) - grew up in Cape Town, been living in Melbourne for 4 yrs now. First heard JD on a nameless compilation tape of my brother in 1981 when I was 13 yrs old - "Isolation" and "Means to an end". After exhausting the JD back catalogue I found "Movement" and prt 2 of the journey started. Then at the BDO in Melbourne earlier this year my fantasy came true (leaving out Barney's grandpa dancing, hollers, whoops and whistles) - when "Your silent face" was being played just as the sun went down, it was just one of those moments in life when nothing else matters. I read this forum every day at work (fast connection), though don't post that often - definitely the best fan site of any band on the net. Cheers.
