Pretty sure thats like critical mass or something. The only way I wanna see a band with 3 drummers is through a VERY large telescope.

Mani must be a very frustrated by Hooky. So he has to publish the argument to a wide audience. It's a little bit amazing. Now the same happen to Hooky, what he did three years ago to Bernard and New Order.

The fanbase have been elated and disappointed with New Order lately but I've still got a wee bit of faith left he could pull something out of the bag eventually.

After a band (in this case New Order) breaks up in a public and ugly way, you'd think the side projects (if I can call it that) would not be breaking up in a public and ugly way (regardless of the quality of the music.)

Of course, Electronic isn't musically functioning, but at least Bernard and Johnny didn't have a falling out. And I also think they're on good terms with the guest musicians they collaborated with as well.

I've already seen a couple Japanese comments online (not on NOOL btw) that even though they've heard that the Unknown Pleasures tour will be coming to Japan (1 date), that they don't want to go (even if they were interested previously), or are hesitating to go, or feel awkward about going after hearing all this stuff regarding Mani and Hooky and the JD thing.

Of course, I'm not saying everyone thinks like that, but there were some comments like that. And the JD tour is quite extensive, right, judging from that other thread here that listed the touring locations?

I'm not wishing bad luck for Hooky, but there's a possibility it could affect the attendance for the JD tour.

Monaco had its day. No financial gain in going back there.

"The Light" doing Revenge, Monaco, Freebass, Hooky stuff (and a little JD/NO) would feel more acceptable but I think all we are gonna see now from the man is Joy Division tours until the interest dries up. Much like Hooky has absolutely battered the DJ circuit for years.

Now if Freebass had been more of a priority over the last 5 years and not the DJ'ing, spoken word tours, books, nostalgia tours etc we might have had a more viable and successful solo project to enjoy.

A stop-start part time rock and roll band was never gonna work....needs 100% or nothing.

I genuinely like it....vocals are bit normmal....but there's some lovely bass from all players. Look I am fuckin biased, jesus.

And as for someone who played on it thinking it's shit....you should know enough musos to know that's par for the course even when there's not a hate fueled hissy fit in full flight.

Like Ally said, Freebass was/is essentially, shit. Mani is just saying what everyone else, even 99% of the people who attended their gigs, has been saying. I would be surprised if the acrimony had anything to do with Mani desparately wanting to tour Freebass and Hooky putting the kybosh on it. I suspect Mani couldn't be less interested in having anything to do with the project. As with most fights in 'business' it'll have it's roots in £££.
