Just a week to go until this single comes out, which means I'll probably get the 12" single I ordered a week or two after it's released. It will be interesting to hear the mixes.

Yes I am also looking forward to listening to the remixes and get the Vinyl in my hands.
I'm surprised they haven't announced CD and digital versions of these remixes yet - perhaps with an instant grat download of one of the full length mixes from them.
However, I do love the idea that my first listen of the three new mixes will be on vinyl - the first time that will have happened for decades! Hoping the digital and CD releases come a week or two later, to make this 12" feel a little more special, even if just temporarily.

First reactions... Both mixes are great - uptempo and joyous.
My prefer-o-meter is twitching slightly towards Bernard's mixes - great to hear his full Renegade version (and instrumental!) - with bass guitar, and I love the vocoder FX. Steve's driving his T34 straight through the front door of Italo House-night at his local community hall and its going off!
Gonna listen to these on repeat for the next few hours and then update the blog.
I just want them to announce the CD single.
Will have console myself with listening to it on streaming platforms.

Mine was delivered today. It's beautiful and sounds fantastic. Steve's T34 Mix adds the bassline we all feel was missing from the standard version.
It's weird. But I've thought this from the first time I heard it. There's so many traits in there that remind me of BLT. Even more so now. I think the Renegade mix highlights it a bit more. It's just a bit of "orchestral" synth and some of the structure of it. And I am liking the bit of bass guitar in it too. *waits for a slaying* 😁
I was growing increasingly p!$$ed off with wrong-headed iTunes authorisation idiocy when I finally managed to get the EP to correctly download, authorise and play.
And just like that, my mood was immediately brightened. 2 cracking remixes of a much needed 'up' choon.
Anyway you choose to, you'll enjoy this!!

The last one is just the standard 4:48 mix, unless I'm mistaken.
Only just got around to listening to the new mixes. Rather wonderful, I think.
The song is so light and breezy and the remixes highlight certain elements that I hadn't really noticed in the standard mix.
I think the band should remix themselves more often. Would be nice to hear different versions of any future tracks.

Maybe they are waiting for the Mark Reeder Remixes to be finished so they can add it to the cd , it will probably have these 3 remixes plus more, I am only assuming
I was going to say the 12" comes with a download code for both MP3 and FLAC, so I was second-guessing whether a CD single release would happen, but I forgot about the Mark Reeder mixes.
Maybe a second 12" single with Reeder's mixes plus a CD combining everything?

Nice 12”. All mixes have something to offer. I love barneys vocal on this track but at the same time loving Bernards instrumental version. Too much vocoder on his vocal mix. Very playable and addictive versions on this 12”

Yep, there was one in my box.
12 inch arrived just before my lunchtime whilst working from home. A welcome relief from the tedium, and great to hear these mixes for the first time direct from the vinyl.
The track has slowly grown on me, but the original mix still sounds very demo-like. Barney's mix is by far the best mix, despite not including quite all the lyrics and replacing some with the vocoder (which I love). Kind of a very cool hybrid of an extended mix and a dub mix. Love it, and as mentioned, the instrumental version also sounds fab.
Steve's mix is also great, but has more of a 90s Motiv8 remix feel to it, so it's all about the Barney mix for me. I like that the previously released shorter version of Barney's mix isn't a straightforward edit, but rather a different arrangement of the same mix with a slower build up - although the full mix is much better and just gets straight into the beats.
Interesting that both mixes feature bass guitar melody lines that are barely audible or non-existent in the single mix. Both remixes expose sound and rhythmic layers tucked away on the original mix that I hadn't picked out before - the light electronic tom drums, and "Hooky" bass riff (which is in the single mix just before the first chorus if you listen carefully) for example.
When you look back and think of all the acts they've produced or remixed over the years, it's amazing they've not thought to do their own individual band member remixes of their singles like this before, and I really love the concept. Who knows, maybe if Hooky had been encouraged to do his own mixes of their singles from 'True Faith' onwards for each 12" it might have made him less resentful when his bass was less prominent in the album versions.
Barney's done some wonderful remixes over the years (ACR's 'Wont Stop Loving You' and Years & Years' 'Sanctify' to name just two). This one is up with his very best.
An above average song, but a wonderful 12" release with some fab remixes.
