I'll be 40 this year so Hooky was nearly right but the aching and bruises have started but I still kept hold of my viking helmet althrough the gig amongst all you nutters up front in the pit, dispite losing one of my horns - bugger.

Absolutely superb night!! All very drunken and very wet for a while! We (The Darlington lads) were pissed enough to know it was an excellent gig, never never get bored of NO! 
The pre-gig piss up was a good piss up, it was great to meet all the NOOL's (properly) this time! Jim and Lucy top couple - can't believe the moshing coming from Lucy, good work!! 
Al, thanks for badges, superb NOOL teamwork and appreciation! 
Shug/Rocket/Uncle John/Baldrick..the list is just too long really..top top afternoon/night!! :) The mosh pit was one of the best mosh pits ever, especialy as it was full of old blokes......nice! All in all, a night to remember (or not) as always! And I lost my sunglasses off my head, nearly lost a shoe, lost several beers and am covered in finger sized 'mosh pit' bruises - all the signs of a very good gig!
Big shame if it is the autocue that denied us EGG. Still I think it gave it a kind of ramshackle nature with Barney trying to remember the lyrics (LWTUA, SLC, especially). Peter Saville was in the audience, asked him to sign a Closer LP I bought earlier in the day, result! True Faith, Transmission and BLT would be my personal picks.
Just came back from an awesome brilliant gig! Pre-gig in The Audley was great, really good to see all the NOOLers! The gig was great, all my bones are hurting, I know where I was What a crazy mosh-pit, haven't been in one for ages, but that really rocked. And all the people were amazingly friendly, even to us Germans

it was all excellent.except for the train in front of mine from manchester broke down and held us up.dispite what some where saying on here about tecnicallies the fact is it was ace and fun.it was nice to meet a few ppl in the audley.i was wearing helmet and blue fac50 movement t-shirt.was with my brother.i met nuts,a nice couple(girl in red top) the bloke from darlington.3 or 4 others.you can see i was tipsy and have forgot names.big thanks for the wings-who ever you be? i should have got on a photo did anyone spot john collins-ex celtic,fulham and scotland footballer??? t in park next

I thought it was awesome. Can I give thinks to whoever handed back my glasses after they got knocked off in the mosh pit(twice), I'm still amazed they didn't get stomped to pieces. Anyone have any idea on the final audience figures? Heres hoping we'll get lucky and get some indoor gigs at the end of the year.

Incidentally, perhaps a long standing Viking could comment.... It sounds to me, at recent gigs, as if they are using something different microphone wise. Perhaps it is just that Barney moves around more these days, but there are constant level ducks as soon as he moves even slightly away or off axis. Also, there seems to be no limiting of any kind on him, hence his whoops can drown the music.....which begs another question.....why the hell is NO's engineer running the rig with SO much headroom ( it doesn't sound too bad from Hyde park, but it's been through a broadcast optimizer(a pantshittingly expensive multiband compressor), so the backing ducks out rather than barney's whoops increasing over all level).
Does any of this make any sense (not necessarily the tech stuiff but the effect of it) to those who have seen them many times?
Oh yeah....ultimate geargeek moment of the HP gig...... I was listening to it on the TV, which has one of those psychoaccoustic field expander flummies on it (feed a touch of each channel into the opposing one at 180degress phase offset, stretches the stereo field out a treat but tends to leave a giant hole in the centre). With that on, I could hear all you bastads signing your nuts off far more clearly (I LOVE a good NO Choral session). But when they were playing BLT, I assume barney was walkabout, because with the stereo widenner off it sounds fine, but with it on, you can actually hear the feedback eleiminator's mobile bands chasing down the feedback he's flirting with.

Trained it down from Edinburgh the previous day for the gig. Brilliant gig - haven't seen em for 18 years or so! Nice to meet a few of the onliners in the Audley, that was a great pre-gig pissup. What a blow about egg though. I just spent the gig roaring Ceremony, much to my other half's chagrin Nice to meet a few of the onliners - Shug, Rocket, facsimile, Roger, Ben, Paul and a few others whom I have forgot names - useless with them! If only tickets for T in the Park came up........

i loved it apart the lack of cash machine, accidentally left me debit at home 
the tossers organisers couldnt even get a cash machine in even though they said on the website that theyre were gonna put some in, would of bought another t-shirt or two if it werent for that, and the wouldnt of re-admitted me in unless i had a pouncy o2 bracelet on me or i worked there tossers o2
Glad everyone seems to have been as hopelessly cunted as me!! The Audley was great (think I owe about 20 people a beer!), left with a couple whose names I've forgotten, promptly lost them on the site, but then managed to be in the right place at the right time to bounce around with the 'ardcore. Fun, fun, fun......

you got there quite early didn't you? saw you there early doors when it was just stash & his lot, me & my lot & doctor clayhead there. then hac turned up, then found rocket mick with no babe outside, then jarvo then hundreds of the buggers.
