Here's a link to the song only.

It's a bit too trancey and not enough BS for my liking. Guess we'll have to wait for the original mix to surface...

That is song is kinda cool!! And you gotta understand its a remix. So, who knows what the original sounds like. I like the piano bits and if this is like the original, then theres still A LOT they can do with it. But its good. B&J tend to be repetitive a lot, but this isn't a bad track at all.

Thank you for posting the link! Even though it is a remix, I like it and think the song has potential. I can't wait to hear the "original".

By-the-numbers trancey remix. Not much in it for Bernard fans, his vocals are all but filtered out and could be anyone.

His vocals are mixed right up in the original on MySpace but sound a little frail. Got a bit of GIAUE about it.

Just played the Myspace version a dozen or so times (and grabbed it for the Vikings page)....it's v v v v catchy. Defo elements of Guilt in there, this is gonna be a grower.

Would like to understand Bernard's contribution to this. These must be Bernard's lyrics, got his finger prints all over it, but what about the melody/arrangement?

A bit better on further listening.Just thought the lyrics were shockingly bad on first hearing "It was early morning /a quarter to eight/i didn't feel great" etc etc

WTF?! That's just typical Barney! and how he usually writes 85% of the time... and nothing wrong with it, either. Besides, you're just hearing less then a minute of it...

Give the guy a break.

Amen! I think it sounds great so far and can't wait to hear the rest.

The following is from Blank & Jones' latest MySpace Bulletin:

"Exclusive Beatport pre release of the new Single!

For all you Djs, Fans and Freaks, we have great news for you.

6 weeks before the official release of the new single "Miracle Cure" we decided to let you have the first three mixes exclusive on Beatport for your personal pleasure and club play.

the mixes received already heavy support during WMC in Miami plus exclusive radio plays by none other than the world’s number 1 Dj Armin van Buuren.

After Tiesto, Paul van Dyk, Deep Dish, Sasha & Digweed, Pete Tong, Danny Tenaglia you now have the chance to grab the brilliant mixes exclusive on beatport.

None other than Canada’s hottest name in Electronic Dance Music Glenn Morrison contributed a fantastic remix you shouldn’t miss.

The Martin Roth Dub Mix is also a sure player for all Trance lovers, but of course Blank+Jones did their very own progressive interpretation for those big room dancefloors.

Out this week on beatport. com!"

Couldn't find them when I looked this morning.........:(

Well I got a listen to the "Miracle Cure" (whats with that title; didnt these slickos already do their Bob Smith Vegas-style review?) and...

It looks like I was way off base and this new collaboration is indeed a height-scaling effort of supreme magnificence... ;) (applause)

Come on kids... this sort of music is everything that deadens your soul, dulls your spirit and kills your dreams... arent there any fans of this bands work left who value their experience just a little bit? Who dont just suck up any crumb their heroes cast off? This record is yet another laughable travesty...

And yet... for those who say that its silly to expect formerly innovative artists to continue to innovate...

This week another group of old has-beens who havent recorded in 10 years and were written off as irrelevant released their first single in a long time.. and it renews my faith in the ability of successful, mature, aging artists to ask more out of themselves than their fawning fans do... pushing themselves far beyond what is expected of them, they reinvent their entire approach to music and reveal a brutal new beauty which lifts the experience of all involved, most notably the listeners... there is no reason that New Order could not record and release a record as mind-bending as "Machine Gun", but of course they didnt...

In the end it is all personal preference. If you are referring to "Machine Gun" by Portishead, I am listening to it now and it is aptly titled. I want to shoot myself with a machinne gun as we speak. It is terrible! JMO I'll stick with "Miracle Cure" and the crumbs that Barney throws out, thanks.

No offence AJ, and I can't say I know the first thing about Blank & Jones, nor have I heard this tune, but ... I sincerely doubt whether they'd see you as their target audience! And if you did 'big up' their tuneage they'd probably go back to the drawing board for a rethink of how to get just 'the kids' interested instead.

Why must you always compare New Order to other artistes? I see no correlation between Portishead and New Order whatsoever. Have Portishead taken on a new direction, I've not heard Machine Gun? Are they no longer knocking out trip-hop then? Or is this the sorta genre New Order should've been delving into at the end of their career. Surely not?

Sometimes I think you just chuck in random names to get a reaction. I mean, come on, be serious, Bernard collaborating with Burial? You really didn't think that one at all, did you?

Nail. On. Head. Hit.

That's a point people spectacularly fail to grasp on these forums sometimes.

Different people like different things.

People shouldn't have to like things because they're relevant or radical or whatever. It's just down to personal taste.

I think that some of them aren't real bands, but just random words that seem to fill his head on a daily basis! :p

I mean, Notwist! Come on, apart from AJ, who else on this board has even heard of them, let alone heard what they sound like??? So, why on earth would Barney have ever heard of them???

:confused2:
